Before the end of the season we will have new owners. Massive consortium. The driving force behind this move is a Poolie by descent. His grandfather was born in Middleton and was a sea going Ship's captain. He plans to revamp the Vic, with a potential capacity of 20,000, which will be achieved gradually as the club moves up the pyramid and hopefully increases it's fan base.
Coxhall will remain as chairman. A proper youth academy will be set up, focussing on attracting local talent initially and then widening the net globally. Land will be purchased to build first class training facilities, conference centre, five star hotel and an accommodation block consisting of self contained flats to accommodate youngsters and "in transit" players.
An initial £ 20 million playing budget will be established with League one and then the championship being the immediate target.
It is envisaged that teams visiting the area to play other north east clubs will be encouraged to use the hotel and training facilities, raising revenue for the club.
Exciting or bullshit..............you decide.
I'm excited.

My uncle Tommy was stranded on the West Coast of Africa during WW2 after his ship got sunk. Is his DNA returning to transform us into a top club?

You completely had me until you said "A proper youth academy will be set up"

Wouldn't put John Hewitson in charge of looking after a quid for me. Nevermind a PROPER youth academy.

My Grandfather played James Herriot in All Creatures Great and Small.

Watch this space - that's all I'm saying.

I forgot to mention that the development of the Vic would entail a bigger area and the pitch would run East to West (roughly) with the Town End and Rink End on the sides and CK and MH behind the goals. MH would be high enough to prevent too much sun interference plus a retractable sunscreen on top of it.

What factor will the sunscreen be?
