Bad news.
There was an article in the Echo yesterday about this man. Apparently a family member heard about the Brussels airport bombing and rang him to see if he was OK. He was, at that point, but then went off to work on the metro and wasn't heard of again.

At school David was a couple of years younger than me and very good mates with some lads that I knew quite well. Lovely bloke at that age and by all accounts he grew up into a kind, gentle man who just wanted to get on with enjoying life. A seven year old kid as well. What an awful waste. It makes you think about the scale of suffering caused by conflicts all over the world.

David used to work for British Airways in the I.T. department at Team Valley (1991), he joined exactly 25 years ago. and was with B.A. when they moved to the Newcastle Business park (1992). He left a while later to go contracting. I believe his parents who lived in the West Park area, died in their 50's.
A lovely man and will be very much missed. His birthday would have been next week 30th March.
Very sad.
