Last night I decided to try out a streaming site, "yalla-shoot", that someone had recommended to me. Luckily they display the club badges in their menu because all the rest is in Arabic.

So I watched the second half of Leicester vs Newcastle dinn'I, thinking I might as well see what all the fuss is about.
I hate to say this but Newcastle looked by far the more enterprising side. If they'd had half a striker, Leicester would've been dead and buried because it wasn't organised defending that kept the Mags out.

Were Leicester as lacklustre in the first half? Was this just a one-off for either side? Are all the other teams in the P'ship shite?

The standard in the league this season has been relatively poor compared to years gone by, which has lead to an entertaining season.

Yesterday was one of Leicester's poorest performance this season. It was one of Newcastle's better ones.

If I was Ranieri id be thinking of resigning if they win the title. Next year can only be a disapointment in comparison added to the fact they will have to juggle European football aswell. Go out at the top I say with God like status.

Either that or hint at it to get yourself a hefty pay rise.

Teams are playing differently against leicester now, sitting back as they know how dangerous they are on the counter attack.

Ground out a win as champions do at this stage.

They have played plenty of good attacking football throughout the season and now is the time for holding onto leads as every point counts now. Previous winners of the prem have done it plenty of times. Think everyone in the country want Leicester to hold on and win it.

I want them to win as much as anyone else but I hope for their sake that their grinding-out-a-win strategy isn't based on riding their luck, which seemed to be the case last night.

Not at all. Unpicked City, Tottenham, Chelsea and others with smart defending and excellent counter-attacking football. Man U used to grind out wins like last night's all the time when they were one of the best teams in Europe. Mark of a well-rounded team in my opinion.

Leicester now remind me of the Man U teams of the mid 90's. Loads of pace and a couple of big centre halves.

I hope Leicester win it as well.

But we do like to celebrate mediocrity in this country dont we?

Never mind the quality, feel the width.

Its the worst top flight football league I can ever remember.

But hey, its more exciting than ever.

The media are pretty stupid at the moment. They are craving a win for Leicester, but watch them panic like fuck next season, when the Champions league has no english teams after the group stage. They will all be decrying the standard then, completely forgetting how the wanted Leicester to win it this time.

I watched the game last night and thought Leicester were dogshit. Newcastle outplayed them at times, and should have had a draw at least.

But they keep on winning, and are so close now. The rest must be fucking garbage though.

Look how bad Manure are, yet are still in with a chance of a top 4 finish.

Its shit, but very very funny.

The gap between the big clubs and the smaller ones is probably the smallest it's ever been in my life time.

West ham have players that are just as good if not better than city, united, chelsea etc

With the finances to every club being massive next year i think this type of thing could happen more n more every year.

Just hope Leicester have the nerve to hold on.

Even if Leicester don't manage to hold on - Tottenham winning the league would be still a fantastic story.

Leicester and Tottenham are both great stories.

But for me the biggest achievement of the lot is Bournemouth.

A remarkable achievement.

But when you consider how easy they and Watford have survived and how Leicester or Tottenham are going to win it, then its truly embarrassing to think its even a good league never mind a great one.

People all over the world like the English top flight because compared to most other leagues it is played at a frantic pace which generates spills and thrills. Plus you've usually got a big four or five rather than one or two and Sky got in early with flogging it to a global market. It isn't a great league for the football purist but its fun to watch for a worldwide audience of armchair fans so it is unbelievably great if you want to 'monetise' the fucker.

Or Mr Colonel, is it purely that the other clubs are catching up with the usual suspects?

You can't honestly think it's a good thing for a handful of clubs to dominate English football forever?

Is it not a massive two fingers to the cash rich clubs??

It could be that, as I predicted some years ago, the inevitable is now happening.
When the number of clubs backed by bottomless moneywells reaches a certain point, there just aren't enough shit-hot players to go round.
The big money is busy snapping up players no better than random teams like Leicester already have.

Bournemouth have done really well but a bigger achievement than Leicester winning it!? Actually winning the Premier League surpassed by someone finishing bottom half!!? Leicester only got promoted the season before last.

I fail to see what is embarrassing. They might have been slightly mediocre last night but that is understandable with the finishing line in sight it's all about winning. They are top because they are a very good side, who have unearthed a couple of players (Mahrez and Kante) who would get in any team in Europe. People have been crying out for the League to be more competitive for years you finally get a season when it is and the same people are bleating about it being shit

Who are these people you always say are bleating?

Or is this how you convince yourself you have a point?

But as it happens it is shit. There isnt one truly good team in it.

I think you will find most of the experts are saying this. Unless you consider your opinion of higher stock?

And just to reaffirm, as I am sure you will not have picked up on it. It is great that Leicester are top, and Ihope they win it.

I have picked up on that but I hate arrogant perception that the league is entirely shit just because one of the teams who are meant to be top aren't. I've seen Leicester live this year and they are a really good side, played some great football loaded with pace. Nobody would be saying it if was Man City or Chelsea top of the exact same league with exactly the same record.

Leicester are playing the most 'British' way out of the top 6.

Hopefully this brings to an end the Spanish style of slow boring bullshit we have had to endure the last 4 year

Leicester look like they're going to 1-0 it all the way to title and are looking very average, but there's nothing new about that.

Chelsea won it finishing with the engine in neutral a couple of seasons ago, so did Man U for Ferguson's last title.

Might I remind you that one of the founding rules of the Bunker was that anyone referred to a team as 'united' or 'city' as if they were the only one would not only be banned but bummed to death by cable jumper and brogue wearers.

Having worked in Leicester for the last year and a half I would be really pleased if they win it. They could do with something to cheer, especially now the shittest king in British history has been laid to rest properly.

The worst words you can hear from supporters is 'up where we belong' .... You are where you are on your performance over the season, not your deluded fan base, your past achievements or all the other crap.
So far Leicester have done the business, I wish them well.

Definitely not the worst, but a city that size should have more going for it.
