Would Leicester winning the premiership surpass Cloughies achievements with County and Forest.

No. Cloughie took two different unfashionable clubs from the second division and won the English first division at a time when English clubs regularly won European competitions. Not only did he win the European cup twice with Forest back in the time when you had to be champions to win it, he would probably have won it earlier with Derby but for a bent ref.

No, The owners of Leicester City have deep pockets and had a plan to get into Europe in 5 years from promotion - they are well ahead of that but it was part of their plan.

They may have deep pockets but the current squad assembled in comparison to others has been done on the cheap.

I've never seen a team in my life time do what they are doing, against clubs as rich n powerful.

Agreed and I can't imagine it happening again which makes it even more incredible.

They've unearthed a few bargains admittedly.

Although what Clough did was remarkable football was a fairly level playing field then. The League wasn't full of the Worlds top players on top wages. Plus he did spend money, Trevor Francis was the British transfer record at the time wasn't he? An incredible achievement at the time though.

Leicester winning the Premiership in this era would surpass it for me, an unbelievable achievement. Then finishing top six would have been laughed at in August. People have said for years that nobody outside of four or five clubs will ever win it again so for a team who are two seasons out of the Championship who nearly went down last season to win it would be staggering and restore my faith in football a bit again! People were going on like it would have been a huge achievement for Liverpool to win it a couple of years ago which shows how things have changed.

So is this season just a one off? Leicester leading the way, West Ham pushing for Champions League, Spurs in a title race, Chelsea down in 10th or something?

Normal order resumed next season?

I can't believe Nigel Walter Mitty Shithead is getting no credit for what they possibly going to achieve. They were bottom at Xmas last year and went on something like a 10 game unbeaten run which saved them but just as importantly, gave them the momentum to take into this season. Also can't believe he hasnt got a new job since.

Football has got to be competitive otherwise it just becomes stale. Had all but given up following premiership but this season has been a refreshing change.
The clubs who want to form an exclusive super league just dont get it, they point to US setup of leagues as a beacon but neglect the fact that they introduce competiveness by having wage caps and a draft system to try and level the playing field each year.

Not sure it's the premiership sides though is it, the new TV deal dwarfs what the champions league pays out and the European top sides are running scared.

I would love Leicester to win it. Although they were boring and cynical I was chuffed to bits when Greece won the Euros not long back. Anything which shakes stuff up is a good thing I reckon.
