Two games, two wins, 7 goals for! How many games did you need to beat Salford? That gap is getting smaller!

Two more years if you manage to stay up in the conference.

From a man who supports a club we've never played before, who don't play in their own town and have to rattle buckets every week just to play on a potato field in Darlington.

I love the almost puppy dog expectation in his first post that any of us have the first fucking clue what he's on about.

Salford? 7 goals? I'm guessing they must have beat Salford.

I try hard to feel sympathy for the Loids because fundamentally we aren't too different and a horrible demise like their's could happen to any lower division club. Shits like Fatty make it difficult to do though.

He'd undoubtedly eat the blue fish out of the urinals for 50p or a half of cider but I still can't bring myself to pity the fucker.

In what way are we so, so close to going into Administration not once but twice, then actually going bust and having to start again. How are we so, so close to playing out of town, not having a ground and rattling buckets just to survive?

How close to playing in the Northern League are we?

Give your head a shake.

You actually believe that don't you, that's the disturbing thing about it.
Still bitter and resentful.

This thread got me thinking.
As a Poolie I used to check on Darlo's results, simply because they were our rivals and taking the piss out of them was the order of the day. However I can't remember the last time I checked a Darlo result. They no longer mean anything to me. When you consider I have been watching Pools/Darlo games since 1952 and was as bitter a rival as the next Poolie, that is saying something. It is indicative of the extent of their demise that their results, their position and their general situation never cross my mind. My interest in them is non existent.
It is fifteen years in August ( I think) since they last beat us and nine years since we last played them. There are Darlo supporters in their twenties who have never seen their team beat Pools. The fixture is a distant memory. Maybe it will be resurrected in the fullness of time but if it is, will it still have the same fervour and passion as before ?? Probably with the "old timers" yes. It still looks a long way off.
I have no objection to Loids coming on here for a bit of banter but they are desperate, or appear so, to see us at their level. Personally it wouldn't bother me if we never played them again...........apart from the easy six points  .
