If the worst was to happen and we got relegated - surely we should back the chairman and manager to get us back into the league first time of asking.

Cheltenham and Tranmere went down last season - if memory serves me correct, they both faced some severe financial struggles and changes at the top. As it is right now, Cheltenham are top of the National league and Tranmere, who really did have some off the field issues last summer, are in 4th place.

Maybe it won't be all doom and gloom if relegation comes our way. Higgy has changed the way we have been playing and although its 1 win and 2 losses, there seems to be a bit of fight back in the team and maybe, a little bit of belief of coming back into the players minds.

I'd rather we remained positive about staying in the league. From the posotion we are in it is much easier to stay in the league than getting back in if we go down. Still need to strenghthen so hopefully will be able to get a couple of loan players to get us over the line.

There be a lot of teams down "there" who used to be league teams... It's not easy to get back once you've made the drop.

I was thinking that yesterday about 80% are ex Football league teams, some are failed newbies but they have been there.

Not sure about he new owners being run out of town but there s a certain CEO who has presided over 7 years of total dross. How can he stay involved? For what it's worth I think we'll go the journey with Dagenham. Moore was left in charge for far too long, should have gone after Salford for me.

No denying that, I was just looking at how Cheltenham and Tranmere have fared this season. With their drama of the field, they've seemingly done well. Its still possible that both teams can bounce straight back, first time of asking.

The simple truth is that it would take a much bigger investment to get promotion from the National League than that needed to keep Pools in the Football League 2.

A bit easier now with the parachute payments. I think the amount is the same as what we get for being a FL club for a year then reduces a bit in the second year.

If we go down, I'd expect us to challenge. Whether we would or not is a different matter.

With the run in to the end of the season Pools now face, I'm counting on some exceptional coaching and motivational work from Hignett and Fleming to keep us up.

I think they'll have to go into the loan market again, whatever Hignett says - the midfield is still weak as pish.

Whatever happens, I'm not sure that much can be laid at Coxall's door - he did his best to support Ronnie Moore's ambitions through signings and loan moves and understands the importance of getting Pools supporters through the turnstiles, home and away.

Can he really be accused of not wanting to spend money like the cup receipts? It's easy to be cynical when bids for players are turned down, but being cynical about FFP in Hodcroft's day was a damned sight easier!

As for the timing of Moore's sacking - Coxall gave Ronnie every chance to turn things around then acted decisively, writing off a 3 year contract. Quite a few on here would have done it sooner, but Coxall had a working relationship with Moore that was evidently very good. Moore was the guy with a lifetime's experience in football and Coxall was the tyro - not an easy call at all in those circumstances.

we had £250000 grand from a cup run just before a transfer window we never spent any if it. We now have a chance to bring loans in. Hignett now says we wont be signing anyone. A parachute payment wont make much difference to us in getting out of the conference if you don't invest. It must be a lot easier to get out of the conference now as proved by teams that have recently gone down but would you trust green and coxall to help us challenge next year? Green has been part of 6 or 7 years of embarrassment, and to be taken over and relegated in that season is nearly comical if it wasn't us. We still have games in hand and a chance to bring players in. Its still in our hands.

Only in Football would a Chief Exec be in charge of a company that has gotten worse by the year. But lets not turn this into a RG slanging match, we don't want the TBE elite on our case, or everyone to be called keyboard warriors by a local journo.

I'd wear a t-shirt with Russ Greens face saying CEO of the Universe for £500 a month like.

Russ Green is the deserved CEO of the year, he didnt nominate himself and he didnt sit on the board which presented the award, that was all made up, probably by the trust.

Russ Green is the best CEO in the football league.

It's purely a coincidence im typing this on an iphone he just gave me.
