No surprise here, got to get a real manager in to sort this whole mess out before may. Not a cop out appointment such as Collins, hewitson or Russ himself.

It's a shame this had to happen, but it was painfully evident this group of players can be managed far better than they are being.

All the best Ron.

Yep. Thanks for last season. I have a lot of respect for what he did. This season though was quickly turning into a nightmare

I think he cared for HUFC how ever he just could not seem to play a balanced team and when we finally played well and won or even the defeat against Derby we played well then he changed it again and again so for me he had lost the plot completely and the Players had no Direction other than last night just kick the ball and hope for the best.
Wish him well for the Future but this had to be the Decision for him to leave just hope we get a Decent Manager to replace him.

Right decision. Now we have to get the right man in and let him bring in his own staff to work with. Whoever it is will need to get the very best out of what we have now.

All those games called off over Christmas have only for me prolonged the decision. If we had played the same way over Christmas we would of lost the majority and Moore would of probably been gone earlier. The other side to that is if Moore had picked up a couple of wins in those postponed games he may of saw the season out.

Don't take pleasure in anybody getting sacked but after the number of signings he made he was bound to carry the can unless results improved.

Time to bring out the cliché of our season starts here. Moore has no defence, he's been allowed to bring in an unprecedented number of players and not improved the team, certainly in terms of league position. Higgy is the obvious choice but time for the owners to show us what they do for a day job and appoint the right man.

Whoever is given the job, he has to have sole responsibility for appointing his coaching staff, in my humble opinion.

Yes , though legally I cant tell you that, discuss it with anyone, state who I work for, or make any disparaging remarks about the company.

Let's just say the manner in which it was done left a lot to be desired.

Sorry about that Chip, happened twice to me and it`s a bummer :(

What Derwent says...

About time the club actually hire and fire like most other clubs in the Football League.

Time for Collins etc to leave too...

No arguing with that decision. 12 points from his last 22 games. Imagine where we'd be if we didn't get those 4 fluky wins on the bounce at the start of the season. Didn't he miss a few of them games anyway? When his kid was ill

Just thinking back to that video of him singing the best manager in the football league song. Embarrassing

Grateful for what he did last year but he should've been out the door ages ago

Sounds very similar to myself Chip, I was confirmed redundant on Saturday and in a same rather shoddy manner. Lets go a joint venture and send our CVs to Coxall

Well done Mr. Chairman.

Right decision particularly based on recent tactics and performances.

On paper we have some decent players (inc loanees) that shouldn't be 3rd bottom of the league so only Ronnie to blame as he has been allowed to bring players in (albeit on an understandably tight budget).

Now make the right appointment and allow new man to appoint own backroom staff even if Collins stays around for a transition period.

I think the bit at the bottom of the statement that 'the club will be making a further announcement in due course' suggests we're getting a new manager very quickly.

Unless the back room staff change from top to bottom I feel fairly unmoved by this news to be honest. A new manager might improve things briefly and crucially (like Moore did) but the things need to change on the footballing side of the club root and branch and they have done for a number of years. I'm not holding my breath. I do think we have a group of players that should be doing way better though and results point towards a change in manager without a doubt.

My first thought is that lad who has that mutant Ronnie Moore tattoo for the rest of his life.

It feels ironic that Moore was the best option to get us out of this mess, judging from last year, but also the best to get us in it.

A sad end. A likeable character who did save us but despite signing almost two teams of players in just over a year could not find a settled or successful formula. Hard to comprehend.

According to Goffy on Twitter there is a new Management Team already lined up to be revealed on Thursday, Sam Collins staying and moving to a new role

Certain people at the club seem to keep their jobs regardless whilst others whose faces don't fit can be mercilessly cast aside. Sam the Snake seems to be well in with our CEO

Wouldn't a recruitment firm want to be seen to be doing the full interview process etc? Ie sifting through applications, giving out interviews etc etc?

To be fair I don't think they recruit football managers.

Plus didn't you used to moan like fuck about IOR doing exactly that!?

Wasn't that how it used be..... no rush, a leisurely review, a looong consideration, appoint someone unheard of, get relegated.

Maybe, have a look, sure you have fuck all better to do.

I'd expect a recruitment firm to request applications etc to test the water and see who is actually interested. I'm sure that's not too hard for you to comprehend. Maybe they are and this team being announced tomorrow is incorrect however.

They need to get it right and Id expect a bit of time to be taken over it.

Very true but in the days of email etc, having a glance if any interesting CVs come through that may make you sit up and take note isn't a long process.

I like Hignett mind, assistant would need to be experienced mind not Curtis Fleming or anyone.

I suspect in our situation we just have to dive in and hope. Far from ideal but we have little option.

I'm speaking generally you arsey get, everybody used to moan about the way and the time it took to recruit managers when IOR used to do exactly that.

We have a massive game on Saturday a quick appointment is needed IMO.
