Not shite but his game was always more suited to how we play than a footballing side like Peterbrough. Was never going to work there.

Il guess at Oxford United.

Just browsing the Fail online and found this at the bottom of an article about Carl Magnay playing in the next reserve game against Notts County:

"Should the Luke James deal go through today, the Peterborough United forward could also get an hour against County."

And another article on the same subject with Moore saying he "won't be held to ransom."

So definitely Carlisle then.

Hopefully if he does come he gets a good reception from the fans as he'll need a huge boost judging by his goalscoring record since leaving.

I just worry Ronnie isn't the man to get the best out of him, but only time will tell.

James' confidence must be rock bottom. Ever since he signed for Peterborough, and even before, his transfer fee has been used time and time again by their chairman to criticise him. If he comes here then that millstone will be taken off from around his neck and, providing the crowd actually gives him a bit of support, we'll see the old Luke James again.

Or could it not have the opposite effect that he is back where hr started and made a mistake allowing his head to be turned?

If we get him he'll get a great welcome and the vast majority of the fans will be patient if he doesn't click straight into goalscoring mode, as long as he's showing a good attitude and busting a gut for the team like he used to.

A few gobshites will have a go, no doubt - nothing new there.

Well if Luke does come then he should be remembered for scoring the goals that kept us in the league two seasons ago.
And not for being badly advised from his agent who sounded like his own self gain was more important than the players.

Who knows if it will work out but got to be worth having a look at him again in a pools shirt.

Bad news.

Just stopped at Peterborough on the train. Luke didn't get on to the best of my knowledge. Doesn't look promising.

He might be based nearer Bradford whilst on loan, keep us informed if you head through Yorkshire.

He was superb for us. Considering he left under that tosspot board and a stream of broken promises I was disappointed but didn't blame him. Top player who can forget....if so short memories.

Regarding Moore's comment above and in tonights mail, Andy Dunn Sunday columnist wrote in yesterdays national newspaper the following:
'Darragh Macanthony seems a sparky type of guy - if his twitter feed is anything to go by. You certainly cannot accuse him of not interacting with his fans, as chairman of peterborough united. And he also gives an invaluable insight into yet another farcical element of a loan system that is so rancid in so many respects[/u]. One of the few merits of the systemis that it enables young players at Premier League level to go out and get experience at lower tier senior level. Yet the tariff on these loan players appears to be increasing. Macanthony told his followers last week that he once tried to take an 18 year old Arsenal player on loan, but was asked to pay £3,000 a week until July 1st. More specifically Macanthony told how he had been interestedin taking Southampton strikerSam Gallager on loan, but it would cost £10,000 a week and a 'massive loan fee'. Under a new scheme, League One clubs - as an example - will get a solidarity payment of around £500,000 from the Premier League.
And they will need every penny of it if they want to borrow a player or two from the money grasping elite'
Is it just the Premiership who are taking the piss?
In view of these comments shouldn't he let us have Luke James for nothing?

His tweet seems to contradict how he operates
If I knew how to tweet then I would forward this link on to the columnist above

Ranted Out!!!!

This emergency loan system is a joke.

How can you bring in a central midfielder for example, on an emergency loan, when you have 4 or 5 fit n 3 or 4 young players, emergency loans should be when you cant put a team out at all.

I never used to mind the loan system, we done alright off it, micky barron, who signed for us, pederson, coppinger who we really should have went for, shuker, betsy, duffy, odonovan....

Then we seemed to just start getting in any old shite about 3/4 years ago, players who arent even good enough for northern league by the looks of them.

Colin Cooper seemed to start it, not sure if it was his idea, or its all we could afford, i'm sure its no coincidence the loans started coming in as the money dried up.

I'd happily limit it to to 2 loans and emergencies if you cant even put a team out.

I preferred giving the kids a go, like under Neale Cooper first time. With the odd loan player as required not rely on loan players for the entire season.
