I was just out in the car and was thinking that myself

The forecast looks fine for this afternoon though so hopefully this doesn't do too much damage.

But then this wonderful drainage failed miserably on boxing day.

Weird eh?

Isn't this rain just the same as boxing days which waterlogged the pitch that day?

Add into 7 days of heavy rain n you'd expect this game to be off too really.

Hope not like.

Its not weird at all really.

It lashed down and didn't stop and wasn't forecast to stop until long after the game, the pitch had standing water on it and wasn't going to go anywhere while it was still pissing down.

This week Monday and Tuesday were horrific but since we've had no prolonged heavy rain, even though it's rained at least a bit every day. The pitch has had time to recover. Even on Boxing Day Mark Simpson said if the rain stopped the surface water would disappear pretty quickly.

I know you post solely on here to get a rise out of people but to suggest anything untoward took place is laughable Pools didn't call the game off the referee did. I'm sure if today's game was on Tuesday it would have been off as we'd had similar (probably worse) rain to Boxing Day.

Anyway let's talk about the game, I've heard that a Hartlepool lad (and cricket team mate of mine) might be making his debut in goal for Derby today.

Good luck Jonno if you do but I hope it's a losing one!

Then will have to rearrange the rearranged Accy game.

Agree, I'd rather play well and lose 2-1 than it go to a replay.

His mam and dad were round ours on New Years Eve and mentioned he should be either starting or on the bench today. What a game to make your debut though against your home town.

Pleased they will both start and hope they take their chance to impress

However, 4 central midfield players playing in midfield?? What does Moore think when he writes that team and formation down on paper and then looks at it??

Presumably Hawkins and Gray will be sent out to play on the wing and therefore out of position and not really given a fair crack

Setting a team up for failure today that formation

Sat in MH seats. Derby fans so quiet would love to hear Pools start with "you're supposed to be away".
