Hello all,

Tranmere fan here,

Few rumours our end that you could be set to sign Andy Mangan when the transfer window opens

Ronnie was at our Macclesfield game and Iain Moore was at our game yesterday scouting one of our players. Mangan did really well initially but has not been back in the side since we changed the formation when he got injured and now have James Norwood who is doing very well for us

Mangan is meant to be one of our highest earners and Brabin has said we have a new striker coming in so looks likely he will be making way

Have you heard anything your end?

Over 100 goals at around 1 in 3 (only 197 starts) 7 in 16 starts this season 8 in 10 starts last season for Shrewsbury.

Based on that he seems like he'd be a decent signing to me.

Hard to get excited about such a player. Has goals in him but doesn't seem to stay at a club very long and not through his own choice.

Well I heard the opposite that we are after Kristian Dennis plays up front for Macc apparently on loan to them from Stockport after a falling out with the Manager there.......anyway I don't think it's the answer we can't supply the forwards we have at the club already why would either of these make a difference no disrespect but we have better on the bench than these two sctatchinghead

I get the bit we don't have much money though for once can't we go and get a real forward.. There must be some that don't cost half a million quid surely ?

Looks like a big stumbling block to sign him if it is - Macclesfield adamant he is staying there till the end of the season

Ronnie Moore was at Macclesfield v Tranmere on Boxing Day but Ian Moore was at the Tranmere home game yesterday 100%. To me that would suggest we are after a Tranmere player, whether he got on the field or not.

Not good enough for a conference side who are bringing in a striker to replace him but good enough for pools....apparently confised

I'll try to remain positive though as it is said he is one of the higher earners and so maybe he is being forced out due to budget cuts at tranny and he have one hell of a player lined up

I don't want to cast any doubts on who this lad is or whether he'll be any good, but is striker our weakest position right now? We have Fenwick and Bingham with potential, plus Paynter who has been scoring all season and will hopefully continue to do so once he returns from injury. I'd rather we spent some money on some creativity in midfield before we brought in another striker.

The lack of goals certainly doesn't tell the right story and while we've not got the best strike force by any means, they need chances to score from.
I'd bring some actual wingers in rather than play strikers there. A midfielder and a full back who can cover both positions would be ideal but mainly to provide pressure for the left back. I think that would be steady enough improvement to see us comfortably safe this season.

Heard he's looking at Dan Holman. On loan to Woking from Colchester.

Mangan has signed for shrewsbury today, who seem to be shipping out a load of their players

Ah well
