Danny Wilson just led Chesterfield to a 7-1 yesterday. I still don't know why he got sacked, he had us safely in League 1.

Funny actually, Wilson and N. Cooper are two of the most successful Pools managers of all time and both of them have been sacked with us in the top 13 of League 1...

I am not sure Wilson was sacked, Cooper yes but IOR obviously gave them a pay off to keep them from commenting ?

We'd been spoilt by the playoff runs from 2000 to 2005 really. We had one bad season then Wilson came in, turned us around and got us promotion.

People hated the idea of being a "boring" mid table side in League One at the time because we'd been so close to the Championship just a few years before. Looking back being a mid table League One side would have been great.

Maybe if they had they could afford to keep going at the level they are operating at and not have to beg the fans for more money every ten minutes. Back to Darlo? They couldn't afford to catch a fucking Taxi from Bishop Auckland never mind build a ground.

They should register as a charity, change the nickname to 'The Bucket Rattlers' and be done with it.

Wonder what Pools could actually afford if they didn't rely on Gary Coxall or IOR in recent years? Try being fan owned and then realise how easy you have had it!

It never ceases to amaze me how you and your hedgehog devouring mate come on here and make silly, snarky comments. Let it go. Our rivalry is a distant memory.

BTW, we are one win ( however unlikely) from being in the last 32 of the greatest domestic club knockout competition in the world.

Who've you got on Saturday? Trumpton?

Don't let facts get in the way of the loids argument. They have to use the fans owned excuse for the fact the people they have in charge can't subtract expenditure from income and get a profit, not plan above your means or find their arse with both hands.

Any clown knew the move to Darlo would have taken about 3 times what they thought minimum while at the same time not spunking money down the drain which they have. I feel sorry for the fans they seem to have people running the club with about as much financial experience as jack and the beanstalk

Utter rubbish. The people in charge know a lot more than you think. Why else do you think that one of them was regarded by Hearts as being good enough to give a job to so that they can follow the same fan run idea?

There's no evidence IOR or JPNG have put any money into Pools for 4 or 5 years. With FFP we can only spend on wages what we generate in income, that income has come from league and television money, player sales, sponsorship, and the fact we have over 3,000 season ticket holders.

Indeed JPNG said quite clearly they donr have money to invest but instead want to improve the finances by attracting investment and sponsorship.

I don't think we would be any worse off being fan owned, indeed in many ways we would probably be better off judging by how the other fan owned clubs in our division are faring.

If IOR hadnt had the idea of bargain season tickets a few years ago do you still think you would get 3000 season ticket holders in your current position? Would you have sold as many this season if IOR had still been owners? Its looks like another season where other clubs seem to be bending over backwards in order to get relegated so if you finish in the bottom half lets seen how many buy tickets for next season and judge it then.

Why are you still needing to raise more funds then if your run so well?

Loan Star I normally respect what you post on here, but our season ticket prices are now on a par with a fair few of the Northen clubs in our division. We still sold over 3000. To suggest this is down to something we did four or five seasons ago, or because of a change of ownership, is borderline insanity. I'm really struggling to follow your logic when you suggest that over 3,000 people will pay £250 for a season ticket because we charged £100 a few seasons ago ? Surely a hike in prices would have the opposite effect ?

The average attendance refuses to sink to the levels you keep predicting every season, despite the away end being borderline empty most weeks, and the shite performances witnessed most games. People go out of blind loyalty, not because it was cheap 4 year ago, or because the owners changed. To be honest a lot of people think that other than swapping Hodcroft for Coxhall, absolutely nothing has changed as far as the day to day running of the club is concerned.

We have had 5 or 6 shite seasons in a row, the attendances havent dropped much, and are still average for this division. No idea why you keep saying year after year they will fall away. The price went up about 40% after a shite season 2014-2015, people still bought them. Perhaps we just have loyal fans ?

My point was you had owners who could afford to take the risk of the cheap season tickets, something a fan owned club would struggle to do, and this move got around 5000 sales. Out of that lot a fair few stuck by it even when the prices went up. Had the great escape not happened then there is no chance you would have sold 3000 this time around with the price hike. I'm not knocking the fact you have sold that many, its great for that level especially with the price hike.

3200 season tickets sold to watch the seventh season in a row of dreadful dull and boring football with very little ambition shown by the owners for years now. Its amazing to think a town our size can average virtually 4000 after witnessing this dross for years. Our crowds like a fair few in this division aren't hiked up by away followings either. Give us a Half decent team and owners who have money and we would now be capable of getting crowds of 5000 on quite a regular basis unimaginable back in 80s.
