I've been listening to the new Field Music stuff and its ace. They've got a gig on in Nottingham in March which I want to go to.

The only problem is that Pools are at Barnet on the same day, and I'd struggle to get back in time for it.

The plan was to drive down to London with the bairn early on, go to the RAF museum, go for some dinner, go to the match, have some tea then drive home.

It's a proper dilemma as the bairn loves a match day in London.

Go to London and the museum etc but don't go to the match and get back in time for the gig.

You must have a screw loose to want to travel for the purpose of watching this crock of shit to be honest.

He (she?) won't always be a bairn. Go to the fucking match!

It's more the getting on and off tube trains, buskers, traffic, all the hustle and bustle that he loves. We always squeeze a museum in as well. I think Tree has got the best option, although if I push it and get him something to eat on the drive home for his tea I might just make it in time.

It's a new ground and so the stand out away fixture this season surely.

It's got to be Barnet

Field Music are a lovely couple of lads, more talented than the other bands to come out of the North East the same time, such as Maximo Park and Futureheads.
Prince tweeted a link to their new single and video recently - The Noisy Days are Over. They were on 6Music the other day with Mark Radcliffe, who loves them ...

I've booked tickets for the gig, and the plan is to leave the match early if we're shite.

Should get back in time to see the support set then.
