Don't fancy our chances going by Tuesday's display, I think it'll be 1-1

My team would be

Carson

Richards
Bates
Jackson
Jones

Naismith
Magnay (If fit)
Gray
Oates

Bingham
Fenwick

Oh we'll score a penalty thanks to a Peter Hartley error.

No doubt King Ronnie will pick Magnay or Harrison at right back, and nullify the already extremely slim chance we have of taking a point.

I'd have as many men behind the ball as possible, and hope for a 0-0

Carson
Richards Jackson Jones Bates Carroll
Oates Magnay Hawkins Naismith
Bingham

5-4-1

Cant see us going from shite on tuesday to beating Plymouth a few days later especially after the lads being tired from xtra time which Ronnie will come out with afta the game.

Best we can hope for is a draw if Plymouth continue there dodgy spell.

Of topic was surprised to see us 12th top of the attendance table with an average crowd of 3838.
Accrington 24th on 1488.

magnay to be ruled out injured and put a complete spanner in the possibility of best team and formation being picked.

Ronnie to mention how harrison isn't really a right back but has no other options (regardless of how bad he thinks richards is, is he really that bad to put in at right back?) and lines up with the same 442 formation which seen us overran by salford until they tired in extra time.

Continues with the no sense in subs and order etc as kudus comes in for smith and plays on the left and we lose 2-0 with another dire attacking display

If he does go 442 against Plymouth it confirms we are @ucked with him as a Manager in my Opinion.

If Magnay is out, I'd bring Harrison back into the team at centre back and move Bates to holding midfield.

My prediction is that I'll leave at the end of the game with a sense of excruciating frustration, total despair and a feeling that yet another weekend has been screwed up.

And I may have sworn at Mr Hartley once or twice. It serves no purpose I know - but it helps with the therapy.

Have to sat I'm surprised by the amount of people who would play Carroll. I'd give Dan Jones a start any day or even Magnay at left back ahead of Carroll. Would like to see Woods back in the team as well

Good call re Jones.

And I just can't see how Featherlight gets a game ahead of Woods.

I hadn't but now with your good advice I might look at that option for future career. Not too sure you can do much with the current situation for motivational speech but I guess that makes a good speaker.

Thank you for this though.

I know it's not been good this season but the recent tone of your posts would depress a Lottery winner on his way to a threesome with Jenifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz.

Each to their own pj but it's difficult to be even remotely upbeat when we've been as shit as we have for as long as we have. When you just simply don't enjoy going anymore, it says a lot. Unfortunately I'm a season ticket holder and whilst it's paid for I will go. Some would say it's my own fault as I don't have to but nevermind

Jones hasn't looked great at left back either when he has played there though, it is a difficult one. Looked solid at centre back mind, especially when he was alongside Mirfin last season.

As you say not great at left back, but he his decent attacking threat.Good cross on him & a long throw,Carrol has neither.

I only put Carroll in my team because he appears to be undroppable so putting anyone else in the team at left back seems a bit pointless.

I reckon Carroll must be getting one up the barking spider from our scout and perhaps that is why he gets a place every week :obscene-buttsway:

Just got back from the pub so I am influenced by alcohol now so ......

Pools 2 Pilgrims 0

Solid defence keeps them out and Fenwick ( If picked ) has a blinder playing a full 90 minutes like he did in extra time v Salford! Carroll should be dropped for Jones. Couldn,t be any less effective! Harrison or Richards in right back. Woods in for Gray ( good sub to bring on!) Naismith for Smith.... Bobs ya uncle!!!

Ronnie Moore managerial genius strikes again.

Surely he could see both gray and woods were fucked before Plymouth scored their 1st yet didn't replace them. He then plays Bingham on the left which is another master stroke and doesn't switch back to 4-5-1 when we got level and left ourselves wide open with the 4-4-2 formation.

He literally doesn't seem to have a clue yet the players turned in a decent performance today. Could see us losing from a mile off mind with how open we were trying to get a win when a point should be seen as good in our position.

On a side note, how can their right back not get sent off for the penalty. Referee poor again

Tend to agree with Mr Chunky.

Thought the ref was clearly biased.
Bingham out of position again.
Harrison played well.
Featherlight was better today.
Great to see Woods back.
Naismith showed his class, again.
Bates had another blinder. He's proved me wrong and fair play to the bloke for showing many of us how good he really can be.
We looked so much better with Woods back but then Ronnie stuck. Does he make the changes for a laugh? Mandron? Jeez.
Jones?
Connor Smith?
Ronnie - Neale Cooper put his faith in young kids from our reserves, not flakey loanees - it worked for him - you think about it when you're sitting there with your son, thinking about who you're going to blame next.....

Featherstone and Bates did very well for me. Woods did well but should be subbed when ur limping about.

Almost like Moore wants to be sacked to be honest.

Bates was immense. Woods and Naismith inspired. Jackson was steady. In fairness we didn't have a shot on target despite all our pretty footie. Where we go from here I have no idea. Hurry back Paynter.

I don't think there is a winger In the league who wouldn't do Harrison for pace. He did the best he could for a centre back being asked to play right back in my opinion.

Don't think Harrison was that bad considering how bad of an option Moore took to play him at right back. Also, the criticism Carroll takes is a disgrace personally. Everyone blames him when attacking players are asking him for a ball and then don't run where they point. He did ok today but granted he isn't playing particularly well.

Anyone can see he is devoid of any confidence. Exactly the same as Bingham. Start of the season when we were winning (but not playing well) and likes of Bingham and Carroll looked confident and willing to try anything. Now they are trying the basics only and when goes wrong, they hide. Probably not helped cos you know manager is going to berate you.

I can't see where we go from here. Squad is ridiculously unbalanced it's Untrue and there isn't really any significant quality there. We run people into the ground (paynter before and now seemingly woods) because we are so reliant, this all falls back to the manager and again today he managed the game so poorly.leaves tired players on far too long and then had no tactical awareness to just take the point we had with little time remaining

The full team is lacking confidence not just a few individuals.
Whats that now 11points from last 18 games.

Its obvious Pools cant afford to sack Ronnie because of the length of his contract but i think most Poolies now would gladly accept his RESIGNATION!

Bingham is so lightweight, he's pushed off the ball like a 12 y.o. playing with adults, he pinged a clearance forward when we were under pressure 2nd half weakly up the line which didn't relieve the pressure on us, when he should of took it up the line looking for the throw in, and making yards. It's basic stuff. Watch their second and he's 'marking' the guy who scores, he's so easily brushed aside it's embarrassing.

I believe it was some guy slagging off Carroll. Used to target Harewood, then Bingham, then Kudos and now Carroll. Someone shouted him down and got a round of applause.

A few were shouting at Ronnie to get Carroll off and get another left back on at which point he turned round and said he didn't have another left back. Someone said go and get one while another fan said he had one in Jones.

It's a sad state of affairs when you wish Neil Austin was still playing left back for Pools.

Bloody hell, some strange comments in here. Harrison played well? It took all of 5 minutes for their left winger to realise he could knock the ball past him, give him 10 yards head start and would beat him over 15 yards. I was shocked at how often he was inside of Bates, it was like he forgot he was playing RB.

The only difference in this game and previous ones were the two quality players we had in attack; Woods and Naismith. They actually look like they can create problems. Throw Magnay back into CM (and Duckworth RB) and I think the three of them will probably be able to cover over Ronnie's inadequacies as a manager enough to see us escape relegation.

How long is Paynter out for? My god do we miss him. Fenwick should sit and watch a replay of the Plymouth centre forward on repeat for the next week to see how you can use your body to actually win the ball.

I personally think Carroll gets some undeserved stick at times. In this 4-3-3 formation, he has no real option down the line, and any attempts to pass into Gray or Featherstone end with a pass along the defence as neither midfielder shows for the ball. Carroll clearly wants to keep the ball on the floor, but unfortunately he doesn't have the trickery of Duckworth to do it all himself. His defending could do with a bit of improvement mind, but he certainly ain't the worst overall defender we have (see Harrison).

Putting Harrison in at right back with no right midfielder sat infront of him says alot about Ronnies tatics. I think Gray needs a break from the starting XI, he's starting to resemble the elusive Scarlet Pimpernel. Put Hawkins back in there, he atleast wants the ball. I'm not a massive fan of Fenwick, but he was much better than anything I have seen from Mandron. I'm at a loss with Bingham. Maybe he needs a clever player like Paynter beside him to bring the best out of him.
