Not making excuses for the team or the manager but I've seen us play worse and win this season. Also, spoke to Portsmouth fans after the game who said they had played better and lost. Funny old game football. Results need to improve. As someone has already mentioned the next few games will give us an indication as to whether or not this is gonna be another relegation battle

This season hasn't been very good so far, that is very fair to say, the best I've seen us play in a game was when Luton beat us 4-1 Which probably speaks volumes.

We're nearly half way through the season now so the table doesn't lie. A few people have said on here that we've replaced bad players with worse players, I'm not so sure I agree with that. Carson, Paynter, Bingham, Magnay, add to that some decent quality loan signings in Gray, Jackson and Naismith. I think they are all good players. So it makes me ask are they playing for the manager?

But at the same time we can't just keep sacking managers every 6 months, Moore is doing no better or worse than any Pools manager has for years (he's done better than most) at some point we need to stick with one and let him end up with a group of players that are all buying into his way, that's never going happen if you keep making the manager the fall guy.

I'd like to see other aspects of the club improve, scouting, coaching, the youth set up. If you get the basics right at this level and a run a club probably you'll turn out a half decent side more often than not.

Agree with most of that but still I find it difficult to see us doing anything with Moore still in charge.

Not so long ago he was blowing his own trumpet, and that of Collins, by saying young loan players couldn't get any better coaching at this level due to their respective qualifications, however it doesn't seem to translate onto the pitch.

Our set pieces for example are dreadful from the creativity to the excecution. Did anyone see Northampton's goal from a free kick yesterday? Absolutely fantastically worked and straight out of the training ground. where do ours end up??? Usually a goal kick or leading to the oppo scoring against us. Then you see the third goal for Pompey against us and the defensive coaching has to be brought into question.

What has happened to talented players such as Harrison, Walker, Bingham, Fenwick, Jones and Woods for example who have all seemingly gone backwards?

Is he getting the best out of Duckworth? What has happened to Bingham's confidence?

He needs a big win Tuesday followed up by winning the next 2 league games, and stop blaming everything/one and accept that he leads this team, the one he assembled and it is up to him to get the best out of the players he has by using the right tactics, formation and to get them motivated to play from the first minute to the last and not have inferiority complexes about playing anyone in this league.

Forever grateful for The Great Escape but in the present he has erroded any of the feel good from the end of last season for me

Agree Tim, you watch when we have a corner, ends up at the back post and no fucker there to head it, Hartley was the last player to come from the back post, free kicks are just pants, straight at the wall or over the rink end

Peter Hartley was the last player to score a header from a corner for Hartlepool United wasn't he?
