Now theres motivation. I've got a puffa pipe which many swear by and I do find that you need to get the right liquid. I use the menthol liquid but I would never have touched a menthol fag. They work, take the edge off but its still like a comparison between a wank and an a shag.

Never really got on with patches. I like the fact that the vape pipe replicates the 'something in your hand' thing.

the nicotine isn't the habit, the routine and ritual is the habit. Nicotine takes a couple of weeks to get over, the ritual is the hard part. Using e-cigs etc just continue the habit. Give up, rough it out and man up.

Oh and put about 3 clem on, don't forget that part...

I tried for years to stop smoking - patches (gave me really bad headaches), gum (actually worked.....in that I stopped for a good few months....and it was in the days when it tasted truly horrific) but it was the book by Alan Carr (not the comedian) that helped me stop and stay stopped. Just gave me a different perspective. It was like a I'd mentally flicked a switch. If I've still got it (not sure if I've already given it away without looking) and you're interested you can have it.

I enjoyed smoking, nothing better than 5 minutes to myself with a brew and a cig.

But it is seriously bad shit in 100 different ways.

There isn't an easy way, you have to decide you're going to do it and then you just feel a bit enraged every now and then for a couple of weeks and after that you're fine. If you don't really want to pack in you pretend the craving got he better of you, put you off work etc and then use it as an excuse to spark one up.

Uncanny this, my first conversation of the day yesterday was with someone in their 40's with inoperable lung cancer.

Not for me. its full on or full off. It's the way I'm made.

Snowy's point concentrates the mind though. On the bright side, I found a fag in the house. I lit it, took half a dozen drags and it was fooking horrible. Chucked it away.

That has to be good.
