Accrington I thought were the best team we played at the Vic last season and this lad was considered one of their better players so even though he's not quite established himself at Portsmouth who have the strongest squad in the division on paper this is a good signing.

Tells me Banton has failed to remotely impress. Hope the lad can do the business.

Are we typical of a league 1 or 2 club, pre-season you sign what players you can, then from October onwards sign loan players. Obviously this probably wouldn't happen if you're near the top of the league, and with no injury worries. Personally 'long term loanees' are fine, but 30 day one's are pretty much pointless, unless it's an absolute emergency.

They aren't pointless if they help you get points.

Magnus came in for the Dagenham game we won 1-0 and he got man of the match, those three points could be useful come May (when we scrape into the play offs  )

A 30 day loan signing kept us in the League the last 2 seasons. Hardly pointless.

OK, hopefully we can sign a few more 30 day loan signings, we should make the play-offs !
Bless, some folk like to disagree with someone's post, just for the the sake of disagreeing. And we need to sign a striker (who can't score) on loan, because......
So it's like a 'magic wand' a player who has not played for us before, will suddenly be the answer to all our prayers....get real Chip !

Luke Williams was a 30 day loan, without which we would have almost certainly gone down. Tshibola, Hughill, you think we would have stayed up without these lads last season ? Or the others like Bingham that came in and got vital goals or Mirfin that helped stop them at the other end.

I wasn't disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing, I was disagreeing because what you said ( 30 day loan signing are pointless ) is clearly wrong.

Yes in an ideal world we would have a huge squad of our own players, but we don't live in an ideal world, and if you can bring someone in for 4 or 5 games that's better than the options you have I'm really struggling to see how its pointless.

Chip, I take it ALL back...... clappp :P

He strolled it. Reminded me of Monkhouse when he joined on loan.
