Yeah it's far worse than someone like Sheffield United, Scunthorpe or Rochdale away.

It's a good draw they are a Northern Premier League team so it's s real chance of progression the club will make money as it will be on the telly. It's a cracking draw, a proper cup tie.

Don't think we've a chance

They made Notts Co look poor, and handled the game well

Notts Co are higher up the league and have a better run of form than us...

Then again - I wasn't looking forward to the draw at all - with the exception of drawing Stourbridge..

Lol.

Ball 13 - check.

Tiny away capacity - check.

Ex-player whose name is Poole and wants to do us over - check.

Likely to be humiliated on TV - check.

Brilliant.

Our players better be up for it!

What you're not factoring in is the BBC love-in with Salford FC with this documentary they aired last week - so why not the fairy tale ending? Manchester United Vs Salford FC --- 3rd Rd FA Cup Live on BBC 1.

Be a nice followup documentary wouldn't it....

now I'm off outside for some UFO watching....

Don't think it'll be on tv, plenty of other league v non league games to choose from and having the same side on at home twice on the trot would'nt go down too well with other sides. Having said that, BT might pick up on it rather than the BBC.

BT will be all over it if BBC don't use it, which like you say having already been on they might stay away from it. With Scholesy being a BT pundit too I think it's nailed on.

Salford are in vogue right now and will attract the largest neutral watchers compared to other non-league sides.

Notts County received a full allocation of 350 tickets. Obviously prices may not be the same but they were £10 adult, £2 for over 60's and students, and under 16's £1

Most their fans will be coffin dodgers but I suppose they don't need much gate money with their owners. good to see them doing their best to get the kids interested though, cant be easy at that level.

I was going to say aren't Salford owned by five millionaires with further investment from a billionaire!?

Unless they are the trust!?

I'm not sure whether applaud FC Uniteds stance on this televised game or it makes me a bit sick in my mouth. All of these people watched Man United until 2005, I'm pretty sure they will have watched Monday night televised matches between 1992-2005 a couple of (hundred) times. They are a non league club who should be grateful of the £60,000 and the exposure. It's not as if they are going have fixtures rearranged on a regular basis. I get the distinct impression if our paths do ever cross they will be a bunch of arseholes, who are like arrogant toss pot Man United fans.

When I think of any Man United fans from the 90's or in fact any Man United fans I just think of Terry Christian off of the Word on Fantasy Football League saying the 'Uneyeted'

It could be possibly a little unfair to tar thousands of people with the same brush because of this. Possibly.

I just think this protest is a bit misplaced at the level they now operate. It's a rarity for a club of our stature to be on the box and the revenue is welcome. They shouldn't enter the FA Cup if that's how they feel about being televised.

But they aren't Premier League fans, they've made a choice to get away from all of that fair play so as supporters of a team who play in the Conference North I think it's a bit strange, it's a one off they aren't going to play on Mondays very often and the TV Revenue is surely a significant boost?

I thought they (the board) made a request to the FA for the game not to be televised or moved? Taking things a bit far that I think.

A draw as good as a bye even if it has to go to a replay.

A big team away to make lots of cash.

None of it reinvested back in the team in januarys window.
Then Ronnie Moore saying the Chairman is brilliant for letting him bring in a couple of LOANIES in in February.

There are some decent teams in the National League and losing to one could be forgiven, but losing to non league opposition from lower tiers is not acceptable and makes the Club a laughing stock. Full time professional footballers worth their salt should be able to beat a bunch of candlestick makers to earn a plum draw in the third round. If not they should be replaced with others who have pride in their chosen profession.

Salford will come through the leagues similar to fleetwood, afc Wimbledon etc but as t stands there players ain't good enough for league football. Let's be honest they have beaten 1 league clu which happens every single season in cup football. Any pools fan who isn't happy with this draw is quite retarded in my eyes. Other options were sheff Utd and the rest of league 1 plus league 2 sides which we have been struggling with all season. The game is nailed on certain to be televised so not only do we have part timers to face for a lucrative round 3 tie we also get tv income. This is a dream tie for this round. Absolutely perfect Infact

Its a dream tie if you have players who aren't soft as shit and pea hearted. Its a dream tie if you get through and win. Thing is notts county got ripped apart by them so what's to say we will fare much better? We haven't played well once this year so maybe a good chance to prove everyone wrong for once and not embarass us even further on national tv.

Blyth are currently top of the league with Salford (and Darlo) not far below them. We should win but anything can happen. All we have to do is stay professional and we're home and dry.

The worry for me is that some of our players are so deluded they probably think that this game is a give, even after Blyth last year.

I don't think we approached the game badly first half we were completely dominant and should have put the game out of sight, but as was one the very worst teams in our history's wont at that stage last season they couldn't put two halves of decent football together and we all know what happened next.

Just been looking at Salford's league table. They have nine league wins so far but only one of them was at home. Not very good at home. in league games anyway.
I think we'll murder them. Fenwick hat trick.

We've got 100% record in competitive fixtures against non league opposition since that Blyth game. It's Salford that should be worried.
