Barron was a loan signing initially. Was Gary Liddle on loan at first? I wish Jonothan Franks was on loan

We can't make any permanent signings until January, plus if you are ruling out signing loan players other the ones you could only realistically sign permanently then you are going to by logic miss out on the most talented players. Surely the whole point of a loan signing is to improve your team and help you pick up some points, being on loan does sort of imply that it's a short term fix but I'm unaware of the football league ever asking for points back that have been secured thanks to a borrowed player.

We wouldn't be in the football league without the system. Mirfin, Huggil, Bird, Thisibola, Christ even Marvin Morgan made important contributions last year.

I think you have people aren't moaning about the lad himself. Its the fact that it will once again be a no win loan for us as we all know if he is any good he disapears back to boro to be loaned out to league one or someone with money. If he isn't any good we probobly disapear out of the cup and down the league a bit more. Now if he was good and there was a chance we could sign him great but boro have a history of not giving us this opportunity.

Im sorry but the facts dont support your argument.

Burgess played a full season for us, he kept coming to games to watch even when he was injured. He said himself he was interested in signing for us if things didnt work out at the Boro, and he's currently playing for a team in this league.

Dolan also played a load of games, and also would have signed for us full time. I believe he is also playing at this level now.

Williams is probably the only one of the three we didnt have the opportunity to sign, but to suggest they were no win signings for us ? Thats a crazy thing to say. If those lads hadnt played for Pools when they did, we would be in The Conference now.

One surprising fact about Williams at pools was that we only won two of the seven games he was here. I presume he was only here a month.

I remember him scoring in wins against Dagenham and Newport. Pretty sure we beat York while he was here as well, another loan player made a significant contribution in that game as well, great goal from Jack Barmby.

We obviously spent decent money on quality loans at the back end of the season and shock horror we won a few games, but since we have heavily relied on the loan system over the past three or four years we probobly have the worst record in the country.

I think its more down to frustration. A squad once again verging on the rubbish side. Having to turn to loan after loan when not one seems to be making much of a difference. Maybe we should go for the one quality loan rather than five or six lets say not good enough loans. A week ago didn't Moore say we don't want to be bringing in a young premiership lad? So what's changed? This is the manager of the club saying it not you or me the manager. Why is one week Moore saying we don't want to be bringing young untried lads in the next one bringing one in. Is it desperation on his behalf or is it more likely the owners dont have much more than a penny to scratch their arses with.

Wonder when the midfield problem is going to be addressed. Bringing umpteen defenders in isn't really getting us anywhere. Seems very strange to me how there is video evidence for both magnay and Harrison to appeal but neither do and we go out and get more loan defenders each time and Moore keeps repeating like the fans also that it's midfielders we need. It dosnt make sense to me and is quite frustrating.

signed a midfielder on loan, hopefully turns out same as tish.

but i think the majority of discontent is with fact we have relied on loans too much in recent seasons, and look what has happened. I think moore had a slice of luck last season as only morgan was really someone deemed a bad loan signing but even he won us a game in 1 of his small number of appearances.

This year, we haven't had same fortune with loan signings. What short term 1 month loans do represent is an unsettlement because if they do turn out good, then you inevitably lose them and back to square 1 with the shit playing who we have contracted. We need to try and get some of these loans longer term like we did with tish, burgess, hugill etc

To be fair you just extend it if he's decent and likes the area etc. 1 month is pretty standard for both parties

Lets not piss about sticking him on the bench get him straight in the side in place of Featherstone, get Barton on the wing and drop Carrol, Fenwick up front with Paynter and Bigham on the wing. This is one game where we can go for it and losing doesn,t affect the league position. Nowt to lose! rakxe

If fenwick plays and scores then he simply cannot be dropped for the next game. It much be pretty soul destroying if it happens again

With Duckworth and Jones in as full backs and with Magnay in (game after Saturday) it doesn't actually look that bad a line-up. One result might turn things in our favour and lift the mood a bit. Lets hope so anyway!
