Jesus Christ, we can't even compete with Sunday league teams.

Couldn't compete, or didn't want to?

To be fair they're a far stronger team than us.

I know things aren't great but you can't beat a hysterical reaction based on very little knowledge.

How do you know we even wanted him? He was on trial, that's all.

How do you know that he's decided that he's not going to relocate his family, he signed for a team very local to Swansea? Where I assume him and his family are based.

The best thing is I bet the same people, had he signed for us, would be commenting on how little he's played in recent years and how he's probably passed his best

I'm aware he was born locally to here but I doubt he's been commuting to South Wales for 13 years.....

He has lived in Swansea area for 13 years and has strong links there, and has stated he wants to live in South Wales when he finishes playing.

His choice was to stay where he lives in the beautiful South Wales area, play regular football in a decent league and enjoy himself, or play for Pools in a League 2 relegation scrap and move back to East Durham on probably not much more money.

I think he probably has made the right choice

Pools are a FL club in name only - and unless there are some major changes both on and off the pitch it is only a matter of time until we are sucked back into the relegation places - fact. And there will be no 'Great Escape' this time around.

Ronnie had said he was going to decide today but even if we didn't want him you'd think he could still do a lot better than that if there was consideration on our behalf. Even if he didn't want to stay in South Wales you'd think he might try his luck with Newport before dropping to a team struggling in the Welsh League

I doubt Newport could afford his wages at the minute, I think the playing budget they have this season makes us look like Man City.

What it does show is that where looking at players teams like port Talbot can afford. Think it tells you what sort of budget Ronnie has when a team that has around 150 fans can afford players we are seriously looking at to turn our season round.

I doubt he's playing at Port Talbot for either football or financial reasons he's probably just weighed up his options in terms of staying in Wales or moving back to the North East.

Having someone on trial for nearly a month to decide he's not good enough? Jesus, who the fuck is deciding this? You don't need that long to realise someone is worse than what we currently have surely?

Obviously that could be an over reaction but it does give worrying signs that someone Moore was praising during his reserve games to then go and sign for port talbot. No-one wants to either play for us or certainly not for the money we pay.

Ronnie needs some loan signings like tish, mirfin and hugill. Doubtful that even 1 as good as any of those 3 is coming anytime soon

It is worrying. This time last year at least Murray had tried to sign some new faces and we had brought in Fenwick, Featherstone and Schmeltz on short term deals to add a bit of depth. Crazy to think that a year on and we are still after the same two things, a midfielder and a centre half. Ronnie has had all summer to address these problems. It's worrying how bad we can look by losing just one player really in Magnay.

Magney is the only one in central midfield who challenges for the ball. The worry thing is he's only ended up there because the recognised ones are so poor and uninterested in performance or results. To many at the club stealing a wage.

this is a big point. magnay has been a massive loss to midfield but only played there because of the 3-5-2 formation in which he sat because of other players being poor. He was seemingly signed as a right wing back if remember where he played most of friendlies

Worley's a sick note, always fucking injured. The Tate fiasco is further proof the club is potless. THree weeks trying to get a loan player in for nowt and then two wondering if we can afford an out of contract player who elects to go non-league. I firmly believe Coxhall is the patsy figurehead put up to be running the club while Ken is in the background pulling the strings. As long as Green and Collins remain at the club drawing wages the more convinced I am Hodcroft is running the show.

Hodcroft was actively trying to sell the club for a good few years. Why on earth would he pretend to sell the club?

Because he is so unpopular with the fans he can do his dirty work in the background and let daft lad take all and the flak when things go wrong. And why would he be able to bring his Norwegian mates for a kick about on the Vic on a matchday. Do you think you and your mates would get that opportunity. And how convenient for Green to become a director of the new company just in time for the "takeover".

I dont think there's any mileage in trying to second guess Hodcrofts intentions.

Russ Green is a co owner of the football club now, along with 2 blokes who have no obvious signs of wealth, or history in running profitable businesses.

If Hodcroft " sold " the club, I'd be very interested to know what those 3 blokes paid for it.

Best guess is that he's given them a debt free club, while ensuring he still has a measure of involvement via his obvious links to one of the three new owners. Him standing aside may have been one of the conditions of getting investment from certain parties for all we know.

but why go through the whole failed takeover thing last year? why pretend to try and sell the club for the best part of 5 year? This 'pretend' takeover could have been done at any point, it makes zero sense to go through all of the shenanigans of the last 5 year.

Shy?

All I can see when you mention his name, is seeing him smiling, taking the piss?, in the background of that interview during TMH takeover.

Its like he was in on some sort of in-joke
