..why has he never had an extended run in the team, from what I've seen (particularly in the Sheff Utd Cup game), he seems to possess a lot of the attributes we are lacking sctatchinghead

Quote:- Hawkins joined Spennymoor Town on loan in February 2015, but was recalled by Pools boss Ronnie Moore after three games, with Spennymoor boss Jason Ainsley saying: "He has been brilliant in his spell for us, even though he only played three games. He gave us an extra dimension"

Another strange move by Moore,Hawkins offers a hell of a lot more than Walker & Fanny.

Probably because he's not at the club.

It baffles me he has never had a run and looking at who is ahead of him currently just beggars belief.

Does he really posses the attributes we are lacking?

While I think he really should have been given a chance instead of the likes of Featherstone and now Walker I doubt his inclusion would make much of a difference in terms of results. I remember him getting a chance last season for a few games, and him really struggling at home to someone every bit as much as the two lads did last Saturday he might have even got hooked at half time.

At the end of the day we really need a commanding presence in the centre of midfield who can dictate a game, we've not dictated a game all season. A young lad like Hawkins probably isn't going to do that, plus the bottom line probably is the manager doesn't think he's good enough.

Hawkins is not a kid anymore and at 22 if he was really any good he'd have played a lot more by now, and not be getting loaned out to a Northern Premier team. If he was as good as some suggest surely he'd have played 100 games by now. I mean its not like we've had a wealth of quality in midfield in the last 4 seasons or so is it? If he cant get a look in ahead of some of the total shit we've seen occupy that berth then it speaks volumes. Moore, Murray, Cooper, Cooper et al can't all be wrong about not seeing it in him, well they can be but it's unlikely! Alright it's quite likely but still

As PJ said he did well in a sub appearence last season and then started the next league match and was like a fish out of water.

Nice idea that he could be the answer to all our ills but I'm afraid it is going to take a lot more than Lewis Hakins to sort it out

Has the lad been given a proper run, the odd start and several sub appearances. May not be the answer but can't see he has really been given an opportunity? Average players right through team and still the lad doesn't get a look in confised

it's about fair oppurunities surely. who is really doing enough to justify their position at present?

oates, paynter and maybe bingham, but he needs to start scoring more.

Never really taken his opportunity when he has been given his chance although chances have been limited. I would have thought that if he was going to push on he would have done it by now.

Kieran Green put in a good shift in a cup game when Sam Collins was in charge, but he's hardly been seen since then, & is now also out on loan

Jordan Richards should've been establishing himself at the club by this time in his career yet has been out injured now for what seems like an eternity....typical.

He did well enough against the blades and was promptly dropped for the next match!
