Haven't been a lot this season due to a combination of things - mostly apathy with a bit of family commitments, but felt like mentioning a few random observations.

The crowd - sat in the Mill House it struck me that there are even more wankers watching pools than last season. On players' backs literally from the kick-off. Some middle aged and older cranks who have almost certainly never kicked a ball in anger coming out with most absurd outbursts that would be laughable if they weren't so tinged with bile. Ridiculous and pathetic.

The game - typical pools, only played with anything approaching spirit when they were down to ten and 2-0 down. Featherstone and Walker were hopeless in the first half, but of the two I though Featherweight should have gone off for Woods. High points in a poor performance were Oates who looked up for it from the off and put a great shift in and was rightly MOM; Carson who despite wearing carpet slippers looked assured and brave; Banton, who looked a good outlet and wanted to make things happen with direct running.

The ref - absolutely and utterly incompetent. The penalty looked decidedly dodgy, as Harrison simply couldn't get out of the way and from where we were made no move towards the ball with his arm. The ref couldn't wait to get involved and nearly fractured his arm getting his red card out. Strangely, the same bloke completely missed Dan Brown getting wiped out deliberately by a Crawley player who turned his back and split his eye open with his shoulder - no yellow card, nothing. He was awful, buying 'fouls' from their ginger centre half twice in the first half yet letting Harrold and his mate up top repeatedly jump into Magnus and Harrison with arms raised before the lofted ball reached them on numerous occasions.

Banton looks poor to me. One dimensional and his end product is zilch. Unsure why he is so highly rated.

I think I'm right in saying he put the ball in for the goal from the corner. He also put one on a plate in the last minute for the Okuonghae who put his header wide from a set-piece.
