HUFC Reunion Squad of '91

After the success of the 2005 reunion evening, we are in the process of organising another reunion, this time for the squad of 91. It will be 25 years come May 2016 since the promotion season with players such as Joe Allon, Brian Honour, Paul Baker, John MacPhail, Mick Smith etc.

More details will be confirmed in the coming weeks, but please feel free to PM me for more details.

The event will be organised to raise funds for the Hartlepool & District Hospice once again.

I hope nobody is planning to invite Gary Gibson?

That was a great squad and a great season and a half in the old Third Division - till the players stopped getting any wages! Pools went from a play off place to a relegation spot in the space of a few months and would have gone down then but for a couple of wins at the death (familiar story...) The season after was a squad of kids and old men (also familiar...) and inevitable relegation.

Bad as the years of slow decline with IOR have been, that was a damned sight worse!

Chalk me in for this! My favourite ever Pools side and era. That promotion season was simply magical and nothing has before or since has topped the last day drama against Northampton for me. I wonder if Stevie Tupling is still sporting a long fez.

Will always have fond memories of that day v Northampton.
Especially as the previous 16 seasons of supporting Pools were all in the Fourth Division with more than one close re-election escapes from the non -league Scene.

My memories of that season considering it was 25 yrs ago are far more vivid than the last few promotions. From the first game away to Chesterfield where we won 3-2 to the last away game at Hereford winning 3-1. What a final second half of the season
