.....keyboards where the caps lock key is indented so to speak when on so you can tell just by the feel of it?

Sick of writing long emails etc to find out caps lock is on.

No

Is there not a way of highlighting it and then clicking summit to put it all down to normal writing.

They just need to make the key so it can be depressed and stay in till pressed again surely?

I might go on Dragons Den.

When I put the caplocks locks key on there is a beep plus it has an indicator light on it although I still end up forgetting. I would like something where could highlight the text and reduce it from capitals.

I find the easiest way to ensure that Caps lock is not on for the duration of a long email is to look at the screen and look if the letters typed are capitals. If they are, there's a decent chance Caps lock is on, so stop, and turn it off.

Select the text and press Shift & F3 until you get the casing you want. Might only work on office packages but you always copy to word and back again.

If you're looking down at the keyboard have a quick glance at whether caps lock light is on or not.

Who uses the caps lock anyway! I just use the shift key. Sometimes you can catch caps lock but the best way to minimise the damage is to look at the screen regularly.

light aint bright enough to get my attention neither is it placed in a decent position, im focused on the letters not the number keypad all the way over on the right.

Maybe the could illuminate the full underneath of the keys instead?

Bugger me! Just actually realised after reading this post that my keyboard has a light for the caps lock but its in such a stupid place you can,t see it till the board is tilted....pointless!! There is also another light which looks like a padlock with a number 9 in it, WTF is that for?

That sounds like you can type while watching the screen. In other words, it sounds like you can type...

Mine flashes CAPS LOCK ON! on the screen when I put it on and CAPS LOCK OFF! when I turn it off. Big green and red letters and a sign. Works well except when I have my eyes shut or my head in my hands in despair.

It doesn't work in excel but i've found that shift + F3 is a shortcut for inserting a function so cheers.
