....utter bollix, I've been hearing this statement for the last 4 or 5 years, from various Managers, our players don't seem to learn, or don't want to, or can't be bothered to. They just seem to slowly get worse. Why is this?, they're young and therefore with training should conceivably get better?.... but it just doesn't seem to happen.
Could anyone honestly say that any of our current squad are capable of playing at a higher level.......I can't. sadx

Yes tim, another over quoted line, you like me can probably remember the dark old days of the 70's supposedly awful Pools teams, but even then the strikers we had were much more clinical in their finishing than the current crop.
We had centre-halfs who'd score headers direct from corners or free-kicks, I'm struggling to remember when I last saw one in recent times, and reckon the current mob don't even seem to think it's an obligation of theirs.

The sad truth of it is that 99% of modern day footballers couldn't give a toss about the shirt they are wearing

I was thinking the other day about the last time we had a player who you'd be confident would score from a free kick.

After that effort from Harrison on saturday I thought to myself "I'm not angry, just disappointed".

Sort of sums us up that effort. In a great position to do something exciting and positive, show some ambition and then a lumbering centre half twats it onto the Rink roof.

Brad Walker took a free-kick in the Bristol game and curled a good effort towards the top corner which was well saved, about 10 mins later we had an identical free-kick from roughly the same distance, and he seemed to be ushered away by defenders who all of sudden thought they were Messi.
Subsequently Harrison blammed it into the wall.......again bad decisions, poor organisation.

I remember Mick Tait and John McPhail as a central defensive partnership, one 5ft 9 the other 6 ft, with a combined age of nearly 80, and they rarely got caught out by long punts through the middle, or out muscled by forwards, and their ability to read a game meant they rarely got done for pace.

Or am I viewing the past with rose tinted

Nonsense. Anyway how does a wing half fit into this 433?

Surely Harrison wanting free kicks was more than validated by Saturdays attempt?

We have a habit of our centre forwards taking throw ins and corners too.

Moore quoted in Tha Mail saying he has a difficult decision re what keeper to play, he doesn't blame Bartlett for any of the last seven goals conceded ?

Good article in the Northern Echo.
Sounds like certain players cant handle deserved criticism.
One thing about Ronnie he dosent keep it in the Dressing Room.

Could drop any of the defence and probobly midfield. There not good enough on a regular basis and the amount of times we have been torn apart this year is ridiculous. Need 5 or 6 quality players to change it unfortunately it doesn't look like the owners have the clout to do it.

Read the article in which he reveals nothing from the dressing room, he doesn't mention any individuals or single any of them out for any criticism. He collectively criticises the back four but after the second half on Saturday what do you want him to say the goals we conceded were pathetic they only got in our box five or six games in the match and scored four times we were the better team in most facets of the game (apart from finishing obviously as well.) I don't think we are a million miles away from being alright, a couple of the right types of player in a couple of key areas. One of them keeper which he states in that article that Carson is fully fit, he'll surely start Saturday?

Can someone have a look at Bresslaws record, I think it's broken. Yes we all get it, you don't like Ronnie Moore and don't go anymore and everyone who still does is obviously some sort of mug who deserves to be sneered at and patronised.
