is bloody gorgeous with a pig pie, downside is the price, 3.59 for a jar no bigger than 5cm, got a reduced one form Campbells in Leyburn for 1.99, should have bought all 4, a taste sensation!

Or make your own, red onion, thyme, red wine, redwine vinegar, honey and olive oil :ugeek:

2 tablespoons olive oil
3 red onions sliced thinly
1 sprig thyme
236 mls red wine
60mls honey
60mls red wine vinegar
salt & pepper

Heat oil and place onions in for 10-15 mins covered, stir occasionally over medium heat
add wine and cook until liquid is reduced to almost nothing, uncovered over high heat
Add honey and red wine vinegar and simmer gently until jam like.
Cool and put in sterilized jam jars, should last a few weeks, yeah right! :character-chef:

I discovered bacon jam a while back and almost came. Expensive but very tasty.

No idea, it was a free sample in a deli. It was about 7 quid for a little jar.

I've just finished a jar of Tomato Relish I was given. Lovely. Most expensive thing I ever bought was about £5 or 6 a jar for some pickled onions. They were lovely, very nicely spiced, but a litttle expensive.
