How the hell does this bloke keep getting 90 minutes? Has he got something over Moore?

Totally inept, can't tackle, stands and watches play bypass him, rarely passes forwards, offers the sum total of fuck all to the team!!!

When we went 442, we had 2 players in the middle who were as useless as each other, Magnay needs to start alongside woods in a 442 on Saturday.

A lot of people think he is good because he seems to make few mistakes but you are hardly going to make mistakes passing sideways.

People would rather slag Brad Walker off as that's what they've decided to do before the kick off.

Surely he can't pick Featherstone on Saturday.

If it's going to be a three I'd go Magnay, Woods with Walker playing playing closer to the striker.

Walker was too deep tonight, bates was regularly higher up the field than him but he offers goals which is more than bates and featherstone offer.

Walker scores more goals granted but he does a great impression of Sweeney in ensuring he's marked so can't receive the ball.

He was giving the town a right mouthful when on the post for a corner in the first half...calling us a bunch of clueless c****...charming..but we didn't play like a frigging fanny..He offers the square root of zero.

Brad Walker is nothing like Antony Sweeney as a player.

I would play Hawkins, he gets stuck in, plays a decent pass and has obviously fucked somebody high ups wife to keep getting overlooked for some of this bilge!

Walker doesn't wave his hands around enough when he makes a run forward and doesn't get the ball. If he added this he could be every bit as good as tony sweeney

Look at the ba Featherstone played to odeyunga on Saturday. He was also one of our best players in the survival run last season.

He was terrible tonight mind.

He's been terrible all season, he can't tackle, stands and watches play go past him, when he's got the ball with space to run into, he mostly stops, does a turn and passes back to the centre half to lump forward, an awful excuse for a pro footballer.

On field problems.
Off field problems with our main sponsors.
Like Parmo said to me last night at least we had about 8/9 good seasons in our 40 years of watching Pools.

I like Ronnie but I don't think he's strengthened quite right this summer.

We got good 'keepers, no complaints on that score.

He hasn't got the defence right at all. Carroll is not the best at the moment and clearly lacks positional awareness, Worley is a fucking horrendous signing. We really needed an experienced centre half with know-how to help out Harrison. Now Boyce is an improvement on Worley but he's too cumbersome and we need someone who can read the game and keep the back four organised. This never arrived. Magnay is a good signing and at the moment I'd play him at centre half to be frank.

The midfield too is awful. We got recruitment totally wrong there. Why on earth were a ball-winning midfielder and a creative player were not signed? Particularly the former, there are loads out there at our level. As it stands, we have Bates who does very little, Featherstone who keeps things tidy but nothing more, Woods who I think is slightly overrated but would get his game every week in this side, Walker who is a poor man's Tony Sweeney. It's a really poor midfield. There's nothing out wide either. Kudus???? lol. Give Hawkins a chance.

Upfront is another mixed bag but the three man combo clearly doesn't suit what we have. Signing three strikers on permanent deals was too much and I'd have sacrificed one of them for a midfielder as I've described if the budget had dictated.

All in all some pretty poor recruitment by the club. We'll be lucky to finish the 17th we are now. I still don't think we'll get relegated but the signings could've been better.

Its 90% Ronnies squad and his tactics.
So he has to accept responsibility as well as the players.
To many players who are in his eyes undropable.
Smith n Hawkins should be given a chance to fulfill there talent seen as the loan market was only used to cover injuries instead of improving the squad.

As soon as they scored the team spirit just dissappeared.

5 wins from last 17 league games tells a story of another season of  struggle.

How can you use stats which include games from last season to prove that this season will be a struggle?

Seriously tho it seems like the most important stat to the club is getting 3000+ fans to pay up front every season.

I don't understand the Walker/Sweeney comparisons on here at all.

I think its due to them at most touching the ball 10 times a game, not ever being in a position to put a tackle in and generally never showing for the ball.

At least Sweeney doesnt blow out of his arse after 10 minutes.

From what I could see, Kudos did a bad pass, others did about 10 - 15 of them and at least he had tracked back and actually wanted the ball.

I have no idea why so many posts are mentioning him or Bartlett for that complete disaster of a game last night.

the full team was garbage.

featherstone was atrocious last night, including giving what looked a mouthful to the town end when defending a corner.

bartlett has a lot of weaknesses, he's good as a number 2 but not even close to as good as people make out. at least 2 of the goals should of been prevented as well as the mistake which nearly cost us.

if you watch walker closely, he seems to ensure he his marked by someone so that he doesn't receive the ball. You compare this to the first 3/4 of his first season, and he's went backwards alarmingly quick but I think it''s been long enough to move on from the hope he gets back as he's been woeful for as long if not longer than he was exceptional.

feel sorry for oates, he's meant to be a striker but one key thing is at least he gets on with it where as fenwick, as much as I praise him, just seems to sulk if put on the wing.

As people have pointed out, woods seems to be only midfielder who can create anything and then a player we signed to presumably play in defence is so far our next best, which is worrying seen as though moore seemed to stumble on playing magnay there.

walker scored the winner at the weekend though? unless that's the point, they are both goal scoring midfielders?

that's walkers key strength in comparison to any other central midfielder we have...he was poor last season and didn't play all games but got 5 goals I think.

just unfortunately both go missing and don't contribute much which you expect from central midfielders

I don't get why people love Hawkins so much? To me he's worse than all the midfielders who played last night, when he plays people seem to forget the 50% he does wrong and focus on the 50% he does right, which usually I would back all our midfield to do anyway.
