Live for the moment then sort it out when you 67 or 77 the way the government keeps putting the age up.

State pension advice only like!

Live for the now, Pensions are a big con, sold on fear factor, not unless the company pay into it for you, remember Financial Advisors have two aims in life, number one is make money for themselves, two make money for you !

Get in.

An increasing number of people aged above State Pension Age are continuing in work (confirmed by the Office of National Statistics) because they can't afford to retire. Pension providers have got themselves a poor reputation, as have some IFA's.
That aside, you still need to save for your retirement, either via a pension, other savings/investments, property, or money under the mattress (not recommended), because the government can't make adequate provision for you, whether it's run by Labour, Tory, Democrat, Republican etc., as most countries are in the same mess.
On Friday, our pension fund trustees received a request on behalf of a pensioner with terminal lung cancer. He gets £2,000 p.a. pension on top of his State Pension, but he has no savings & can't afford to make provision for his own funeral, nor will his daughter be able to afford it.
These are the kind of consequences of living for today & hoping the State will bail us out.

Forget the pension. .they'd leave you with 23k savings and a fiver for papers, pocket money, if you had to go and live in a care home.Might as well blow the lot now..Just looking ahead
