Does anybody know of any good swimming classes in Hartlepool for my six year old?

The useless bint at High Tunstall was a no show again for his class tonight without any kind of notice to let us know. I'd rather go somewhere reliable if possible.

Ta.

Two clubs in Hartlepool, Hartlepol Swimming Club and Aqua Force, both have websites, Google and you should find all the info.

If its just normal swimming classes Millhouse run them for all different stages pretty much everyday. Plus if you pay by direct debit monthly for ongoing lessons the young un gets in free to go swimmimg anytime.

Bruce Ridley he's called a regular at pools too. Both my kids went there before we moved.

Owton Manors pool is shut at the minute, something to do with the building work going on which has affected the heating system, or something like that. My daughter was going there but we take her to Dyke house on a Sunday morning now

She has Tim Lightfoot teaching her, Bruce was still doing lessons at Manor but I'm not sure what he's doing at the minute

You've all got me reminiscing. I had Mr and Mrs White first (who were also my next door neighbours growing up) and then Mrs Sandcaster. Stopped when I had to go with Shouting Shirley/Sheila, can't remember which.

Shouting Shirley, Shirley Black was a brilliant teacher, deep down the kids loved her and at the Annual Presentations she always got the biggest cheer much to her embarrassment as Bruce Ridley was the Head Coach at the time. She was always reluctant to attend Galas, kept in the background, gave my daughter a very good start in swimming which led to many medals and trophies along with many others. She was a very 'tongue in cheek' type person.
She would have made a brilliant school teacher, took 'no shit' from parents or kids, she worked in a factory in the town, can't remember which one though.

Yeah, it was more the issue I'd have to take it seriously and I had never really enjoyed it in the first place ! Football mad then, the only thing I could focus on.

Who was the woman who used to teach in King Oswy who was reputed to have represented the UK at the Olympics?

Betty Sands swam at the Senior Olympics but I think there was another one who swam at the Olympics proper.

One of my teachers at Manor, Judith Turland, swam at the '72 Olympics.
