If Ronnie thinks he can fill a role then why not. Presuming Jones has a knock and if Magnay playing midfield then that only leaves us with Harrison and Worley as our only centre backs and if Ronnie wants to play 3 at back then im sure he will play some part.

YES
Then if he gets injured we can bin him at a portion of the cost of a long contract.
Obviously Ronnie rates him and hes well experienced should stand out in this division IF he can stay injury free.

The thing is about Parnaby I doubt any of us have actually enough of him as a player to fairly judge him. He had a couple of nightmares early last season, I seem to remember him getting a 2 out of 10 in the Echo for the Northampton game but by all accounts his head wasn't right 12 months ago.

I still wouldn't bother though, his career history suggests we won't get many games out of him.

This is why I don't trust Loughlin's judgement anymore. Parnaby was directly responsible for 4 of the 5 goals that night at Northampton, a game which I took half a days holiday to get to, got an "Average Speed" fine of £60 through the roadworks on the M1 (54mph apparently...) and then had to endure that shyster pretending to be a Defender. 2 out of 10? I wouldn't have given him zero.

Obviously it depends on the rest of the team but Magnay and Bates can fill in. Also young Nearney had his deal extended at end of last season so could give him a go and there is the loan market. Sam Collins said he was considering getting his boots on at the end of last season to fill in and I'd still prefer this to sick note signing.

When Parnaby did play last season he wasn't good enough irrespective of his injuries soni'd look elsewhere.

From what I've read and heard, I'm quite surprised it isn't Magnay who has dropped back to the right-hand side of the 3 man defence. He played right back/centre half for Grimsby, so surely he would be more than comfortable there? Harrison is a traditional centre half, in that he is good positionally when things are tight and compact in the centre and easier to control but will always struggle when there is more space for the opposition to play in. It just isn't his natural game. Parnaby isn't the answer and never will be.

The man who admitted he didn't have it in him anymore after the Northampton game and didn't take any more part in the season but continued to pick up his wage (not that I blame him for that). That Parnaby?

No I wouldn't have him back .

If he's playing well, Ronnie likes him, short term deal, then fine by me.

Agree with pay as you play but anything more than that is a waste

No. He was a waste of a wage last season.

If Parnaby had been on pay as you play contracts throughout his career he'd be relying on food banks and going to cash converters on the rare Friday's he was playing the next day to buy back his boots.
