This is a thread for everyone to divulge their tea-time intentions, because we've not had this for a while.

I'm making mushroom soup with some goat cheese thingies on top. Bloody hell, do you know how many mushrooms you have to chop to make mushroom soup? Hundreds, it is

I'm going to see the Amy Winehouse documentary at the cinema so I'll probably get some chips on the way home.

Thanks for asking.

But will you be having salt? vinegar? other condiments? And which chippie? See, it's good to talk.

(I'd like to see that documentary too.)

I'll be having both salt and vinegar from Jenny's Fish Shop in York.

I'll let you know how it is. But only after I've finished my chips.

Ainsley Harriott chilli cous cous with a little chicken and an Asda extra special Turkish bread thing with sun dried tomatoes in it.

Condiment wise il probably sprinkle some paprika and Cajun on the cous cous.

Bigass prawns, Gambas if you prefer. Followed by bigass prawns,

I didn't close the freezer door properly so I'm now obliged to embark on a 4-day gluttonfest. With a little help from my friends.
There were only 2kg of prawns that thawed like.

I'm not sure what 'pulled' pork (etc) is, though I keep seeing it on menus.
Is it, like, an old dish with a new name or a new thing altogether?

ps that's weird....was about to post this when I saw Toulouse had got in first, on the same very subject.

pps but of course, he would have noticed the sub-text

That reminds me of a horrible vegetable biryani I had at a restaurant last week. It contained tomatoes, cucumber and pepper (which technically are all fruit, anyway) instead of the usual stuff. I hope yours will be much better, Anthrax.

I'm waiting for 'pummelled pork', or 'pounded pork'.

It doesn't have to be just pork either, how about 'beaten meat'?

For afters, maybe creamed melons, or strained plums? If it's translated in French then I can see it taking off.

It's based on the old principle that if you cook something for long enough and give it a good dollop of flavouring, it becomes edible.
Add imaginative marketing and the money rolls in.

I'm planning to have a twice-frottaged lamb bap tonight. Not sure what it is yet but I reckon I can sell the idea on if it is vaguely edible.

I'm also going shopping. Any reccomendations for the rest of the week for a man of limited culinary aptitude?

Large Asda double decker pizza, 3 pack of fries to go, bag of mozzerella and Chedder grated cheese.

Cook pizza, fries to go into microwave for 2mins 30 seconds. Cut in half, sprinkle on top of pizza, sprinkle of the cheese, back in oven for 3 minutes and enjoy.

Tree, how is it you seem to have more teas, and more ingredients in each individual tea, than anybody else? And do I notice any five-a-day aspirations?
No, I don't.
You're probably suffering from an overload of carbohydrates and extreme vitamin deficiency.

Well that's what I meant.....'currently eating'. You are always, always eating something and making me feel hungry.

Anyway, I like the sound of this much more than that microwaved fries and asda pizza thing you had before.

Why cut the fries in half? I can't keep up with the latest food fads.

And I cringed typing 'fries', it's one of those Americanisms that sets my teeth on edge.

They quite long and thin. Thinking about it I actually cut them in thirds, is easier to eat.

I had shallow fried pork ribs in tempura batter with egg fried rice and cucumber shavings.

Last night was steamed scallops with vermicelli and chopped garlic..

But the gadgie with crisp butties has got it bang on. I'd kill for one.

Of course sussex is wrong, it's pork cooked or smoked for a fair old while till it's falling apart, pulled into strands and left to marinade in the barbecue sauce of your choice. Very nice with a good beetroot coleslaw and a side serving of sweet potato fries.
