Now that he's back in the test team, who would you prefer to see behind the stumps? Him or Buttler?

Personally I'd prefer Bairstow, I think his agility behind the stumps is superior to Buttler. Both brilliant batsmen on their day but Bairstow shades it for me, Buttler is prone to the odd cock-up and still looks a little bit stiff.

PS Would love to see Bairstow's old fella there at the moment; gritty little fucker that none of these Aussies would dare get on the wrong side of.

not sure bairstow is the answer against pace. always looks like he's touching cloth as the bowler runs in. i'd be delighted to be proved wrong.

although in his favour, he's not that wanker pietersen.

Well as a fully paid up member of the wicketkeepers Union I'll give my two penneth.

Seems regardless we are picking batsmen who they put some gloves on these days and it's a case of picking who is the least worst wicketkeeper. For me Buttler is still raw behind the stumps but seems to be the one with the most natural long term potential both with bat and gloves. For sure even at this stage he is a much better keeper than Prior (and I don't even want to call Geraint Jones a keeper) and Prior ended up being competent behind the stumps in the end.

Anyway if Buttler doesn't keep he may as well not be in the team but he has the potential to develop into a high class keeper and batsman. I'm more worried about his batting in the last test than his keeping. Considering he's left hand dominated as a keeper (anyone wanting to argue with me watch him when he's keeping) he's very bottom handed with his right hand when batting.

The new Aussie keeper looks good as well, actually looks like a proper keeper who happens to be a decent batter rather than the other way around which is nice to see.
