Anybody know who trialists are?

Looking at photos on OS from today photos 11,15 and 18 show two players with no numbers on their tops, I think they have 35 and 36 on their shorts but don't recognise them although number 35 player does look familiar.

Anybody recognise them?

Bates doesn't! Well he hasn't got knees. I reckon I'd outrun him comfortably on that track.

Why are some of the players wearing bras outside their shirts? Having catapult written on them doesn't mean that they are not bras.

Listen you lot I don't want to see anyone criticising Big Stevie Howard, a big unit like him takes a bit longer to get going in pre-season compared to the smaller lads, so cut him some slack yerz bastards

The other trialist in the OS pictures is Euan Murray.

21 year-old, 6'-1" defender not much experience.

Started his career at Motherwell.

Was freed by Clyde end of season.

1 trial game for Arbroath, only played 10 games total for these clubs.

If Holden can sign for an SPL club then someone released by Clyde doesn't inspire much confidence. I'm happy to be proved wrong like, he might be another Baldwin.

Surprised nobody mentioned the new trialist Adam Whittle.

Played left comeback first half, had a descent game not tall but looked strong low centre of gravity player.

Was on the O/S, he was at Dunfermline last year.

Johnny Giles is the one that interests me, a Durham university student with potential. Doubt he'll give up his studies but I always think there are little gems out there if you give people a chance. If he's at uni, he can't have had links to other clubs and so must have improved in the past 3/4 years.

I'm sure pools will keep a check on him this season, maybe keep bring him in to train.

Giles has shown up well in the games I've seen him in. Decent delivery on him.

Giles does look a step above the rest of the trialists, its still hard to judge though as we haven't had a real test as they are glorified training sessions. Be interesting to see how he does tomorrow against Scunthorpe if he is involved.

Not seen any friendlies but going by the twitter updates, he gets plenty of mentions. Didnt Ronnie say he was telling them over the weekend?

Can imagine no harm keeping him here and having a further look.

I didn't think much of Giles on Saturday but hard to tell over 45 minutes. Bell and whittle looked pretty decent. Whittle went quiet after their number 7 took him out though

Thought Giles was excellent against Billingham Town but as the opposition has got harder I'm not so sure about him.

Think Bell has shown more consistency throughout the friendlies and against Spennymoor on Saturday he stood out in midfield, works hard and has an eye for goal. It's been a while since we've had a contribution from the midfield in terms of goals and do think Bell could give us 7 or 8 goals in the season.

I was impressed with Featherstone on Saturday he stood out as well if I had to pick two central midfielders now for the strongest team for this coming Tuesday based on the friendlies so far it would be Featherstone and Bell.

Liked Whittle but need to see more of him.

Zac Thompson ex Leeds United 22 year-old defensive central midfielder.

On the bench today.

Adam Whittle given another chance at left wing back, starts today.

I hope he better at dealing with the LDB better than the last wing back we had from
Dunfermline.
