Jiz, how do you find the tourist invasion every summer? My mam has a caravan near Cirencester, so we spend a lot of time down your way. I like going round all the little towns that are like film sets, but I would fucking hate to live there.

I really don't find it a problem. The people who visit are not your Shagaluf types and I can't recall any incident of note which has made me think living here is a problem (other than the various travelling folk who hitch up in inconvenient places for up to a week and then leave a trail of destruction - but you get that problem nearly everywhere).

I used to be amazed at the number of American Tourists who visit. It's normal to me now but it was this that made it hit home how lovely The Cotswolds must be for others to make such an effort to travel here.

In that case when I'm down there I'll make an effort to piss through every letterbox in the towns that start with 'Chipping'.
