I'm a little concerned as well to be honest. Jpng are obviously a small company so not cash rich. Why would they get involved? They are probably using us to develop their business and saying you own a football in Dubai will open doors. If they do grow, with pools helping their profile up here and in the Middle East, then we could benefit. But... If they don't grow, or find running a football club harder than they thought, I'm worried about where that leaves us. Lots of assumptions in all of that and I look forward to hearing more from jpng.
As an aside, the bunker can be quite a pessimistic place to hang out (at times, altho funny with it) but it all seems pretty rosey at the moment. I was reading the vital board earlier, often seen as the last bastion of the rose tinted glasses brigade and it's much more concerned about it all...

Just a case of wait and see really, no mention of the FA test for owners being passed yet but surely that mistake wouldn't be made twice.

I with you there Mr Mutley. I really am trying to be happy about it but I just aren't particularly. I'm not unhappy but I'm just not blown away.

To be honest they have came in and pretty much admitted they aren't a cash rich company, they think that they can grow the club commercially and say they have a plan. It leaves us in no worse position than we were already in and now with a plan going forward that probably wasn't there under IOR.

Not a billionaire owner like everyone would love but that's realistically not going to happen, but a fresh start and new impetus!

Behind them 100% and let's see what the next few weeks / months bring!

Chairman on Twitter by all accounts so no doubt more communication with fans in next few weeks than in 18 years under Ken. Looking forward to press conferences etc

interestingly (or not!?) the new chairman was posting cryptically on Twitter about the deal going through a month ago.

They are putting 'the town's club' back on the badge so they do understand somethings already!

I would like a whole new badge to be honest, I've never liked the ship steering wheel one.

You never know. With a new man at the ship's steering wheel we might eventually get one.

I'm wary with cautious optimism. If they have a plan for sponsorship through their contacts with football being popular in the Gulf states then their maybe could be positive times to come.

IF their plan works.

If it doesn't then hopefully at least there will be time for the Trust to be up and running strongly- we can't let that die off just because we have new owners even if things start brightly.

IOR - no money invested and no communication
JPNG - We don't know how much they can invest and they have started well on the communication front.

It's an improvement so far. Give them a chance until they give us reason not to trust them.

At least the chairman and the company have twitter so if it goes tits up we can give him grief!

New Board , new era, new ideas , new investment.

My sources tell me that the new owners will integrate and work positively with the Supporters Trust so that can only be a positive step forward despite the fact that there are still people inside the Club opposed to this. Fortunately the new owners wont take their opinions on board.

Green will be there initially but don't expect him to be around for long irrespective of any noises suggesting otherwise. A lame duck CEO one could say.

Commercially the Club will change for the better with a stronger, more positive direction with new ideas.

On the field Ronnie will have full backing of the new owners with possibly minor changes in the backroom I would guess.

Unless a Club is fortunate to have a super rich owner it has, like most League 2 Clubs, to cut its cloth accordingly while still functioning in a strong forward thinking way.

There is no bad feelings t be had - all positive.

Wonder how much we get to spend on FM now. That will reveal if they are cash rich or not.

The new owners have also been in talks with the council about the millhouse masterplan which includes redevelopment of the rink end.

Its only early days but so far so good.

Then when they have bought the ground Gary Coxall will rip of his mask like in Scooby Doo and it will be Ken underneath saying ha you pesky kids I got the ground after all. There's a conspiracy theory for you.....

That's where Chip is wrong - I don't speak on behalf of anyone.

I just think that IOR's shelf live had expired and it was time to move on in the best interests of everyone. I think despite the reservations of TMH they would have done ok but my gut feeling is JPNG will do better. As for previous threads about IOR and TMH being as one then the conspiracy theorists really lost the plot..........That was never the case.

There will be restructuring I have no doubt and with all restructuring in every business there will be casualties but will all be done in the Club's best interests. The Club needs improving internally and I think JPNG will do that once they have settled into that.

So Chip.....I hope you're not a conspiracy theorist as well ? Just go with the flow and let the Club develop for the better as I believe it will do.

They have an office round the corner from St Mary's axe and their Dubai office is part of a complex next to The Mall of the Emirates. Hardly bargain basement real estate like.

The (UK) company has a better net position than IOR (i.e. in the black) and a small amount of liquid cash. I would suspect their overseas operation is backed by much more.

I found all of this out with 10 minutes of research. Not sure what the person in the above link was doing.

JPNG are legit. Nothing like TMH.
I was one of the biggest critics of the TMH takeover after what I found about them but JPNG are legit. Trying to build up a business presence in the north of England and a few of them are big sports fans.

If they TMH deal had gone through I'd be extremely worried about the future.

Another step in the right direction.

We've been winding down as a club for several years, salami slicing away at the very fabric of the club to the stage were most of us had given up hope of anything under the present owners. It had even got the point where the fans were actually resigned to the club slipping out of the league, it couldn't go on, it was soul destroying.
To be honest, if the Devil had made a reasonable offer for the club I'd have given it the nod.
Time to move on.
