I prefer the Belgian Witbiers to the Weiss although they are both similar.

Cans of Bulmers pear cider and Stella have provided contentment for me this afternoon on the patio.

I'm getting into Belgian and German beers now. Some of them are a bit insipid, but the dunkel (dark) and rauch (smoked) ones are ellish. Still can't beat British beers though, particularly stouts and milds.

I'm into Belgian beer at the minute, there's a cracking micro pub that's opened in Stockton called Golden Smog, have about 40 different bottled beers and 5 ales on draft. They have one called Kwak and it comes served like this.

I'm frequently appalled at the difference between the draught, bottled, and canned versions of the allegedly same beer.
Heineken is probably the best example but my current pet peeve is Cruzcampo. The draught version quenches your thirst faster than you can say faster, while the cans are totally undrinkable. Alhambra bottled beer is lush wheareas the cans are foul.

We used to sell Kwak in our pub and it made me chuckle no end the number of people who carefully extricated the glass from the cradle to drink.

Errrr, just use the wooden handle you wallies.

I like the Westmalle Tripel a lot, but to be honest, when I tried the Dubbel I was a bit underwhelmed.

Get Tongerlo tried if you haven't already. Mind it's "only" about 6.5% (my gripe with most Belgian beers is their ridiculously high drunking factor)

If anyone comes down for the Notts County game go in the Canalhouse near the Railway Station. They have several hundred bottled beers from all over the world, a lot of them Belgian. Quite dear like.

Not been into the canalhouse, into my Belgian beers are the minute though. The delerium beers and barbar are particularly good. There's a pub by mine, Lincolnshire poacher, has some world beers in it, might be worth a look!

An American ale called Blue Moon is a nice drink, big fan of pale ales.

Try adding a wee bit of orange into it. Really nice.

Sierra Nevada is another nice American pale ale. Not sure on the urine content needed on this drink though.
