well I didn't see this coming

http://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/news/ ... 01090.aspx

"For approximately 18 years IOR have owned Hartlepool United but today they can announce that new owners will be taking over the Club and Ken Hodcroft will step down as Chairman from today.

IOR believe this will be in the best interests for taking the Club forward into hopefully some exciting years ahead.

IOR would like to thank everybody for working together from January onwards to pull off ‘The Great Escape’ at the end of last season, including all members of staff and particularly the fans who gave their full support to the Club and IOR through what was a very critical period for the Club.

A further more detailed statement will be made on Monday 22nd June.
Read more at http://www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk/news/ ... 72VIeKZ.99"

Hopefully that's the end of green also.

Very happy to hear the news but slightly concerned as to who has us

Surely it can't be that much of a shock - IOR wanted out - Ken wanted rid

The season ticket payment was a bit of a clue

As was the postponed release of a new shirt

Suddenly investment in the pitch and backing the new manager

Leopards can't change their spots and there was no way Ken was suddenly backing the club after years of decline

Hopefully the new guys have a bit of cash - and want the best for the club

The good news for the clubs coffer is - Now IOR have gone - I'll be buying next seasons shirts for the family.

:-)

Let's hope so. I wonder who the Euromillions winner is who's bought us.

Ken must of been waiting for season tickets to sell 1000 then do one. Hence the picture of him shaking that blokes hand on the OS.

I have a feeling they may feel they are in a very strong position to find the best person for the role themselves.

I thought it was odd today that Ken was at the club to shake the 1000th season ticket holders had and now I know why.

The new owners sound promising. I think we may have some good times ahead.

Another new entry to the list is Phillip Yuill, former chairman of Yuill Homes, a family business founded in 1927 and based in Hartlepool.

The company was taken over in February of this year by Northern Ireland-based Taggart Holdings in a £60m deal ending the Yuill family's connection with the business.

Mr Yuill has a fortune of £66m and is ranked 876th richest person in the country.

Glad Ior have done one but anyone with a hole in their arse can see they have pocketed what they can the players they have bought in wages probably don't start till next month so got away from that. Put that ontop of tv money, Baldwin and James money and that from season tickets uncle ken is laughing.

"I accommodate the rich, multi-millionaires and business entrepreneurs. Obviously it's a very big industry and in India it is especially fast-growing," said Sameer Chamadi, who runs an escort agency in India that has branches in Dubai and London.

"If the guys have money, they can have my escorts," added Chamadi. His business is one of many online escort agencies sprouting on the Internet in India.

It/construction who have branches in Dubai and London.

An escort owner though could do a good deal on season tickets with great incentives

Well blow me surely IOR have not got this one wrong. Surely FL due diligence has been completed this time before the hand over.

It could be good news as after the great escape IOR have sold when our 'stock' had recovered good business move for them. It may explain the new signings and the timing is a clever move as IOR will not pick up the wages of new singing on 1st July but now that will be the new owners. Hope Brian Clough has not unearthed their capital assets though on another thread as god rest his soul Vince Barker would have had more to offer !

'kinell, new pitch, six new players within a few weeks and new owners the next?!

If the occasional tea issues can be sorted in time for August as well as a return to those chunkier chips, I might just have to chuck one over t' wrist :)

I wonder how long this has been going on for.
when the new away shirt was announced they mentioned new sponsers coming in over the summer for the shirt. Makes me wonder if that had something to do with the new owners. I'm sure TMH said they had a big sponser lined up.

Just a thought like

Suppose we got to think would IOR have spent on new CCTV, new ticket desks etc if knew on their way out? Or was someone else financing that?

You don't need to be mega rich to run pools though. What you do need is to employ good people who can spot good players who get sold for decent money. Then you need to maximise season ticket money and have a price on the day that the north east public can afford to come to watch us. If Exeter city can post profits then it is possible if things are done correctly that pools can also.
