is Ken rolling back the years and starting to fall in love with running a club again. 3 decent signings upto now, backing Ronnie things are looking good, go on Ken splash out next and get Mirfin back and show your intent. Roll on the good times.

Its certainly looking promising at present but will there be funds for more permanent signings of the same calibre?

Another 1 or two of the same ilk and I imagine there will be a sharp uptake in season tickets.

Keep em coming.

Maybe they consider things to be already pruned to the bone and begrudgingly accept a one-in-one-out arangement.

I,m not saying I,m starting to love Ken, I am starting to get carried away though because for the first time in years its starting to feel good mate just my opinion but I think things my just be starting to get better because I don,t believe Ken wants to sell up and I think in Ronnie he,s found somebody he trusts. and if it is the case and he fancies having a crack at the league again good times could be upon us, I may well be wrong but for the first time in ages I,m gonna start getting excited about this year.

Certainly heading in the right direction, 3 signings and a goalkeeping coach.

I wonder what we did to lure Caig away from Scotland.

Well he's got no keepers to coach at the moment, so the package must have been a good one!

Ior and Ronnie had slashed the playing staff down to 14 players and rightly so.
The era of carrying deadwood and has-beens had to come to an end.

It makes buisness sense to get some decent players in early to get the ST sales ticking over.
But as soon as we get up to 21/22 players it will be the loan market for Ronnie.

A bit early to sing the praises of IOR the squads wages will be no higher than last season thats for sure.
But i have a lot more faith in Ronnie than Cooper when it comes to working to a budget.

Look at the points return from last season under Ronnie.
Last 22 games 31 points. At a 46 game ratio then returns 65 points.
Not a million miles away from a top 7 spot form.Reasons to be optimistic in my book.
As for ior staying or going is anyones guess.

We are all the same wanting the best for OUR club and will obviously have different opinions but i think the majority will agree the future looks a lot brighter with Sir RONNIE as the gaffer.

His contract needs sorting ASAP!

Not first choice at Blackburn if his profile on soccerway is anything to go off. No way he'd come here:

I agree with chip regarding numbers coming in need to be bigger than going out. It's been the other way for far too long and the slide down the ladder replicates this. Squad is way too thin.

Also agree it's not the ior love fest time yet. We need serious backing because pitch invasions for finishing 3rd bottom should never happen again. We were an established league 1 club. For me that was our level, when we are back there with a Side capable of staying up I'll praise them (if they are still here. Until then though they are still the people that almost had us out the football league because of a huge lack of ambition

I think it's much more down to having manager who is at work every day and getting off his backside and talking to lots of players. Moore knows what building a team on a budget is all about.

A slightly different approach to signing your ex Boro injury prone mates then seeing where we are in August before desperately loaning some kids to bulk up a total unbalanced right back heavy squad.

I doubt 'IOR' are doing much, if anything, different to previous seasons we just have an experienced manager with the gift of the gab.

Exactly, we have a manager who actually knows what he is doing and is preparing for next season early on which is a good sign. As PJ says its much better than panic loans throughout the season.

Letting Ronnie release who he wants and get on with his job is a step forward in itself judging by recent seasons.

Then there's stuff like relaying the pitch, signing a goalkeeping coach - little indications that the behind-the-scenes rot might have stopped. Somebody will get a paint brush and a pot of paint out next!

Assuming IOR still want out at some point there is at least a sense that the ship has steadied - massively down to Ronnie's influence, but it's hard to argue he's not getting some support.

And there hasn't been a 'IOR are putting the club into receivership and nicking off with the cash' rumour for at least a month!

A well maintained ground and a beautifully pitch always help entice a prospective buyer.....

not quite sure I would say we were an established league 1 club. Last time we were in league 1, we had 3/4 seasons of mid table mediocrity gradually finishing lower and lower before the terrible season of 12/13 and then since then we have gotten progressively worse which has definitely went along cutting the budgets.

However having a thin squad doesn't always equal poor squad. Agreed it makes things difficult as can't cope with injuries to any players but if you have a core 13/14 players who are fit, can avoid injury and are good standard then youth players and loans make this up to acceptable numbers.

We spent 9 out 10 seasons at that level I'd say we had become an established League One club.
