Quite shocked at the passing away of Charles Kennedy!!!! sadx

He always came across as a genuine and honest bloke....and was always very good on HIGNFY!!!! sadx

Kennedy would have never gone into coalition with the Tories. He was a Social Democrat. Had he joined Labour in coalition he might of sorted that shower out. Sadly we'll never know.

Not sure we can really say what he would and wouldn't have done if he'd had a sniff of power. We can say that he took a principled stand on Iraq regardless of the personal consequences and that he took losing his party leadership very well. I think deciding to go on as a backbench MP rather than chasing the cash available doing things like wearing red trousers to present train programmes and writing shit articles says a lot. It suggests that he was genuinely bothered about his constituents and thought being their MP was an honour - that's enough to make him a pretty rare figure nowadays.
