Forced to a second vote - and then the other guy withdrew

Apparently that was a humiliation for Blatter

How long can he hang on for is the question.

Doesn't matter he's fucked.

The Americans will have him in shackles soon enough.

It was mentioned earlier this week that he has avoided all travel to the US over the last 4 years as he knows they will nick him if he goes there.

Not sure exactly how true this is - was on the BBC news I think.

How can the morons still vote for him, unless of course they're all corrupt. Hope it all comes crumbling down around them. rakxe

Are the FA not corrupt?

There have been plenty of 'eye opening' decisions in the past that suggest the premier league and football league are not always consistent in their approach to the misdemeanours of teams and players.

Maybe that's why he survives - if he fails then surely almost every football association will also face questions.

Look at UEFA and Platini - FFP brought in to level the field - this season it will be scrapped and apparently Platini's son works for PSG - who are one of the worst FFP offenders.

I think if you look at those who voted for him you can see why they'd want a corrupt leader. Every African bodies and the vast majority of Asian nations voted for him. I'm not saying they are all bent or that thr Europeans aren't either but his votes primarily come from areas known for corruption.

Might sound like a daft question. But even allowing for this week's events (the OAP might have known nothing about it at all) But WHY does hardly anybody ever challenge him for leadership, and if they do, they withdraw from the process/get defeated quite easly. And HE keeps getting re-lected ? Do they feel sorry for him, because he might die soon !
Or is it just a job, running FIFA, where the sport is that popular anyway, no need to change...just let the old kunt be president till he retires/falls asleep.

People try to they just can't possibly win.

It's one vote per national FA so India with 1.2 Billion people's vote is worth exactly the same as Montserrat which has less than 5,000 people. They nobble all the votes in Africa and Asia by buying them and bang, virtually impossible to defeat him.
