Steve Harper to sign tomorrow after his release from Hull. Ken broke the bank for an ex mag and at 40 he's the right age for an IOR galactico 2 year deal.

Has Xavi actually put pen to paper for that Qatari club yet?

I might be wrong but I think Harper has a coaching role at Newcastle. But regardless of that I'd like to see him as player/goalkeeper coach.

If he has his own portrait to that would be an advantage.

I'd love to see Steve Harper back personally but not if we have to break the bank to pay him. Like to think he's taken enough money from bench warming at Newcastle for two decades, so he could play for us for nowt.

Thoughts on this Barnsley lad? Know nowt about him but in Ron we trust

I'm expecting to see 'Big and physical' used to describe most of Ronnie's signings, in league two it can only be a help provided big and physical aren't their only attributes like Mansfield.

As for Steve Harper, don't expect a keeper who played most of the previous premier league season to sign for Hartlepool, it was a tongue in cheek post.

He's not "big and physical" he's "bit and physical". He must have played against Suarez at some time and filled him in.

Can anyone remember a close season in which we signed TWO players before July, let alone June? I'm starting to get a nosebleed.

Although we may pay buttons, I reckon Moore must be the sort of manager certain types of players want to play under, so if nowt else we should attract some half-decent types at least.

No chance of it being Mirfin, as we all know Ken wouldn't pay the sort of wage he would command.

I'd sooner we sign Ricky Nelson to play at centre half.

Oh I remember all right. Cracking signings they were too. If we hadn't been farting about getting to a play-off final we might even have signed them in May.

It's Horatio ...... he may only have one eye and an arm missing, but he's a proper battler and takes no prisoners.

Surely Nelson wouldnt be one of Moore top targets, could maybe understand it if he cant get anyone else and came in around July or something but surely signings at the moment would be high on his list.

At the anniversary event the other week, I was surprised how lean Nelson looked. Might be stereotyping but don't centre-halves usually fill out as they get older. We need a strong / hard bastard type who can organise and just can't see that in nelson. Always remember Nelse getting murdered when he played against a big centre forward sctatchinghead maybe i'm just thinking of howard bbolt

I think if Moore wanted to bring back Nelson, Hodcroft would tell him to take a walk.
Has everyone forgotten about his shenanigans with the agent? Not just once but twice? KH couldn't wait to see the back of him.

He was getting done like a kipper on the ground too for Norwich and Hibernian some years ago. Too slow then and aint good enough in the air to counter that.

And the shite about not being arsed for the last 2 years he was here.

People just seem to forget all this though.

Of course if he shaves his head again then fair play.
