"doesn't mind where he plays"
Surely Ronnie isn't like previous managers who would play him in that tricky left wing slot?

Don't know if we'll sign Trevor Carson.

Just thought I'd add to game stats as they don't appear to go to the end of season ending May 2015.

Trevor Carson was with Sunderland from 11 November 2004 (then as a 16year-old trainee) till 06 May 2012.

He went out on loan during this time 6 times playing a total of 54 games including cup games. One of the loans was to Hull City who he didn't play for (that is for the first team).

He signed for Bury following being given a free by Sunderland after nearly 8 years on 23 May 2012.

The next 3 seasons were as follows:-
2012/13 Bury 50 games including cup games.
2013/14 Portsmouth 40 games including cup games.
2014/15 Cheltenham 51 games including cup games.

So looking at last 3 seasons he's hardly missed a game and at 27 year-old he's still quite young for a keeper.

Baring in mind he didn't play many games in his time at Sunderland I think a 195 games played isn't that bad really?

Decent league two stopper Carsen, worth a try. Been a fan of Flinders over the years, but think he needs to move on.

In line to start for Northern Ireland tonight with Roy Carroll injured. Shame we haven't signed him yet, never had a capped player since the 60s

But would this mean if he did sign that everytime there was an International game we would have to rearrange our League games?

You have to have a certain number of players called up to rearrange I believe. Therefore we'd need adequate cover for the odd game he might miss.

I could be wrong mind but I couldn't imagine a game being postponed for one player.

There's a decent video of some of his saves going round in Twitter. Some bloody good ones too.

Its a good point, I believe you need to be missing 3 or 4 players to have a game postponed so whatever back up keeper we get will need to be up to the task. Rather than 17 years olds from Newcastle etc who I suspect we never plan on playing.

Assuming this signing is kosher, I'm starting to get seriously impressed by the summer activity.
Six in by 15th June? Makes you wonder WTF was going on in the previous 10 close seasons.

Seems to parry a lot straight back into danger from that video. Not saying it's not a good signing, just an observation!

The other close seasons weve had non managers getting to invloved in who stays n goes.

We got A proper manager now who wouldent take shit like that.
Basically thats the difference.

I thought the same but keeping them out is a start. Hopefully he'll have less to do behind our new look defence. Looks good enough for league two

Which players did the non managers let go or sign that manager didn't want?

Oh Klinger, don't that one off again!

Apart from Green dishing out contracts after sacking Yogi and before a new manager is in post, the evidence is slim to non-existent, but since when was evidence needed for a belief system?

The ones that didnt require him to move maybe.

To be fair doing such videos of keepers is utter pointless, all keepers at any level make blinding saves, sometimes pure luck and sometimes because of poor positioning etc. To make any sort of judgement you would also have to include goals conceded etc.

Either way he cant be worse than Flinders.

Yeah but Flinders is gone, I'd assume someone coming from Cheltenham who wants to be further north would take a smaller wage than what Flinders was on.
