Im pretty certain the club will tell them they have to make their mind up by a certain time so we know what areas we need to bring in and how much we have to spend etc.

I know for a fact that one of players 'in talks' over a new deal has never been offered a deal and was released by a phone call the day before the retained list was published!

So i suppose its a case of when Russ and Ken stop playing games and tell us fans the truth!! Can see it being a while!

I'm guessing his 'fact' isn't a FACT.

Unless anybody has a plausible reason why someone who had been released would be left off the released list?

I'm guessing Belinda the barmaid got given the job and messed up. Stick to pulling pints luv!

So Ken and Russ can say "well we tried to keep him" etc

Ronnie moore mentioned last week at his Q&A that the players who had been offered new deals were thinking them over and discussing with their agent. SO basically saying they can sign or look for another club. But he did also say, they have been told that the club wont forever and the players had been given a deadline.

Because there would be an outcry if Flinders was released?

There'd be more of an outcry on here if he'd been given a new 2 year deal on the same money!

Think the point here is no matter wether you think he should be offered a deal or not.....the Club is once again bare face lying to the people that support, fund and care about the club!!

Hey, if you've got a picture that proves a rumour I'd love to see it too.

Though if he was released by a phone call I'm struggling to understand what the picture would show? Flinders on the end of a phone?

Somebody help him out - Please!

The club has told bare face lies to the fans in the past. This has been proved unless Phil brown is a liar too.

This is the reason you should all be just a little concerned.

No reason to lie though did he got himself a nice little job at Southend on wages Ronnie Moore could only dream of at pools. Players also apparently giving up playing football then a week or two later signing for a conference club. Ior have a recent history of lying to the club or fabricating the truth.

I've got no reason to doubt that, but the rumour in question sounds a bit far-fetched to me and suddenly it seems there isn't any photographic evidence after all...

ITB reckon Flinders has turned down the offer of a reduced terms contract and has gone - that's a rumour I have no problem crediting.

I guess we all believe the rumours we want to believe, don't we?

Ok, have done. Definitely a sauce very close to one of the interested parties.

Can imagine that the club captain would be gutted to discover he wasn't really in Ronnie's plans - whether it was no offer or a reduced offer.

Can't imagine why Scott would go along with the charade of other people pretending there's something on the table if he was already a free agent - why wouldn't he or his agent just put out a statement saying the club have got their facts wrong?

To be fair flinders isn't even mentioned by name on the announced retained list, just says discussions are still ongoing with other first team players including Bates, Franks and Austin. Why would pools need to deceive the fans into presuming flinders was part of those discussions?

regardless of what has actually happened here, would be too much to ask Green to at least once, have a clean, concise and clear retained list?

Maybe it would be detrimental to season ticket sales to tell anyone the captain was being released with no other senior keepers on the books?

Last year there was no deadline and Poole in particular look a very long to turn it down, it was the day we returned to pre-season training I believe so at least that won't be happening again.

Obviously haven't seen this photo but Ronnie had them in from the Tuesday onwards to tell them of his plans individually and for one who lives here I'm not sure why it would be done by phone call.

i doubt it. I'm one of Flinders biggest advocates but i wouldn't be overly bothered if he went based on the last 18 month.
