£250 for an adult if bought before the end of July. Amazingly pay on the day prices are staying the same, you'd think they'd have learned a thing or two after this season.

Seriously, are they thick?

Can't argue with the season ticket price but keeping the pay on the gate prices the same is beyond stupid.

Especially dumb considering how many southern teams are in the league this year, so not as many away suckers (sorry fans).

All I can think is they do it to keep the value of Season Tickets up

Probably do it so more inclined to buy a season ticket meaning they get the money upfront before they fuck off.

They didn't even have to announce pay on the gate prices yet. It's like them saying 'you need to buy a season ticket because the on the day price will remain a piss take'

I'm confused to fuck here. Now there's less incentive for someone who can get to less than 10 games to get a season ticket and no chance of them buying on the day because of the price. The "no man's land" in the middle was the main gripe with this and they've made it worse!

I just noticed the full price is £295 which is quite a bit less that normally.
£250 is still good value for those who will attend week in week out but those floating supporters who can't attend all the games very well might not pay that but won't pay on the gate either. At the end of the season I heard plenty of people who were just going for cheap tickets saying they would be getting a season ticket but weather they do now we will wait and see.

Yeah, I'm at uni and only made it to seven games last year; I'd still save about £25 if I were to buy a season ticket, but am I really going to commit £150 of my student loan, when I live of less than £20pw to football, when I might not even end up saving money if I were to just pay on the gate each time we play and I can go?

For the third worst team in England we are now also one of the most expensive to watch. I cant wait for people to justify more cost cutting with these prices. Be shocked if we sell 2000

Is anyone really that surprised though?

You can predict the bollocks the club will spout already

"We've had to raise the price of season tickets and keep the pay on the day prices the same to cover the costs of the new CCTV system, sadly we won't be able to sign any players at all due to UKIP not winning at the election. We're introducing a new scheme at the Vic, "Sponsor some hard chuddy" Pay £18 to have your name engraved on hard chuddy that has been stuck to the floor since 1992."

whoever is in charge of sorting this stuff at the club is a moron of the highest order

so now an even bigger middle point for people who can't make games
extortionate prices for pay on the day which people certainly won't pay if we doing poor, maybe if challenging at top at a complete push
why aren't they just on sale now instead of waiting?
club shop shut on a weekend, best chance for most working people to get down to buy
claim to be amongst best value in league - several clubs are similar with numerous cheaper who aren't cutting budgets constantly

it can't be difficult to get this right. our crowds improved so much when they reduced the prices, even for the exeter game when it was still quite expensive. honestly, couldn't screw it up anymore if they tried.

So now we have season tickets that aren't really that cheap compared to many clubs in the division and pay on the gate prices that are way too much

what goes through their heads though honestly.

its ridiculous. now if you can't make more than say 12 games, it's pointless getting season ticket, yet cost you an absolute fortune on the day. it's just pricing more and more fans out of it. it's almost like they want less fans, so they can then say we don't have the income when inevitably they cut the budget again

this players from tranmere is a stupid comment.

fon williams isn't even that good, seen nothing to say out of contract so probably pay a fee plus tranmere are a bigger club than us and he's been there a while so imagine on decent wages.

We know they have no long term interest in the club only short term. To them it makes sense.

Any sensible business men with a long term interest obviously know cheaper on the day prices work as per last season and they are riding on back of a wave of (arguably highly misguided) optimism.

Instead of course they get as much as they can before they leave and the first game of the season we are back to 3k home fans at best, the regulars

They'll be hoping we have a cracking start to the season and then those who decide against season tickets start paying on the gate in there droves.

No Zebra Finance this year either which may knock a few sales off. Pools have came up with some for of replacement but you still have to pay before the end of July

Struggle to sell 2500 at that price .. Well done Ken you are dragging us back kicking and screaming to where you picked us up way back at the beginning of the century .. Fuck off out of my club and take your gormless mate with you!

The season ticket price isn't an issue if we sold 2,500 that would be decent, I think we are likely to sell more. You can really knock £250 top price for a season ticket with even better offers for concessions. The pay on the gate price not changing is ludicrous though when they have recent and clear evidence of reductions in that area working.

I blame Iain Wright and all the labour bastards

You wouldn't have sky high pay at the gates prices under a Conservative led council i'll be bound

I bet under a Tory led local government we'd get lids for Bovril and proper pies back with mushy peas, fucking labour council and MP

it's a £70 increase when we have just finished 3rd bottom.

The match day prices are the main issue but every time you increase the season tickets you price out those who can't make every game as it becomes less and less worthwhile.

Last season £180, needed to make 10 games to save money. this season at £250 you need to make at least 13. it creeps up every time and is no longer a price which can be deemed cheap in comparison to rest of league. People wouldn't mind if we actually spent money but you can see it's just going to be a repeat of last season.

Expect Moore to walk by end of august.

£180 is extremely cheap for a season ticket, £250 is still
about £150 less than I paid for the same seat ten years ago. After they reduced to £100 they always were going to have creep them back up a bit but you can get an adult and a kid under 13 for £325. I don't know of many things you could do 23 times a year with the little one that would cost you less than that. A bit of an increase in season ticket prices was inevitable.

it's not a bit of an increase though. Its nearly 40%. I appreciate that it's still way cheaper than 10 years ago, but 10 years ago we weren't scraping the bottom of player piles for non league players or those on little wages, constantly cutting the budgets.

It was also when we had just reached the play off final and entertaining to watch, not like the drivel produced time and time again for last few seasons. Also it's not extremely cheap...people have pointed this out before that numerous other clubs offer similar priced tickets; it's just cheap compared to like you say 10 years ago but the circumstances couldn't be anymore different

I paid a total of £230 last year for me and the boy. Then paid it over 10mths at 0% (but with an extra £10 admin I think it was) which was a really good deal in my opinion.

This year, I've to find £325 with no option to spread the cost (unless you count 2 1/2 months as spreading the cost which I don't)

It's a big increase and I have to find it before the end of July or pay even more come August. Failing that, I'll have to declare my membership of the STE over :(

I love going, like everyone else, so I'll be trying to get the money from somewhere but I feel it's a massive kick in the teeth to be honest. We finished 22nd in the lowest professional leage FFS.

12mth 0% credit card is the only option I reckon.

you could all boycott and not buy a season ticket.

Now I know the TBE would be apoplectic with rage if anyone suggests this.

But I quite like them being apoplectic with rage.

So I am suggesting it.

I expect a thread on another MB about shortly.

Agree with you here, but just think ill have to pick and choose my games next season as with the holiday season approaching and other commitments in the next Two and a half month I to think it's the end of being in the STE group.

Fucking bargain.

The lads down here are mainly Bradford City season ticket holders. They've put their prices DOWN by £50 to £149. and you get a seat and you dont get pissed on when it rains. Mind you, it is Bradford like

Its obvious they think they know better when every supporter knows they don,t.. if that makes sense. sctatchinghead They could have really moved the club forwards by reducing the gate prices, it could easily add another 500/1000 on the home gates especially if we get off to a good start  and then even more again! Now we will be kicking off the season with 2,500 in the ground and zero atmosphere.

Thick? Arrogant ? probably both. :angry-screaming:

They won't lower on the day the price because it shores up ticket season "offer." Its patently obvious that they think they can ride in on the great escape bullshit.. What an inspired idea.. We survived because 2 teams where even more dire than us not because we are any use. Investment will be minimal (pots to piss in seem to be rare these days) and I can see a similar glorious season ... If being 3rd bottom gets you a rise of nearly 40% its a big reward for failure.....

yes but there are already those saying that the bunker is just slagging off IOR again. So there are plenty reeled in by the Great escape hype.

Reckon they could get two years out that.

If they had even taken a pound of match day prices, it would have taken the edge of the announcement. Really silly pricing.

I actually feel all of the season tickets are fairly priced to be fair however the day prices are ridiculous and I see no benefit of it when it's clear that at a reasonable price there is a much greater interest

think I,ll wait to see what type of signings we do before I go and buy mine and the kids. don,t mind paying extra if we have a decent squad. actually think its worth paying more to watch a better team.

I think the season ticket price is spot on, it's the pay on the door which is baffling.

Tells me they won't be around very long hope they fook right off TBH, had a whinge elsewhere £850 for me would of probably put it on Zebra in the end, that's not an option now. The gate prices are aimed obviously for season tickets to be the preference and get as much money in as quick as possible and no payments spread over 10 month. Why don't they ever do a family season ticket?
