Now that we are safe, we need to plan for next season and its got to start now.

We can't have another season like this, we say this almost every end of season but now more than ever the squad needs a massive overhaul.

If Sir Ronnie can call the shots we could get what we need.

So who goes and who stays?

That is true, although id be very surprised if he left by choice.

We give him a chance to get back into football, he has performed a miracle and is loved by the vast majority of Pools fans.

Id really love to see what he can do when can put a squad together that he wants to.

So if it was up to me i'd release

Maxted, Austin, Holden, Bates, Parnaby, Miller, Franks, Compton, Harewood, Melish and Hawkins

And i'd try to sign 2 from Hugill, Bird and Bingham if available, and Mirfin if he is released and then a new left back, another midfield player, a winger or two and of course another couple of right backs and keep Featherstone for another year

Might also be worth a cheeky enquiry to Carlise about Wyke to see if he wants to come here

Not sure I'd release Hawkins. Bates, Parnaby, Miller, were signed by Cooper so if they got 2 year contracts releasing them might not be that easy (although I agree with you)

If Cooper gave Parnaby, Bates and Miller 2 year contracts, he wants hunting down and made to eat my daily shits and why would you release a young lad with potential, such as Hawkins?

Why get rid of Maxted unless you are keen to bring in a real threat to Flinders. We may need someone who has "happy" to sit on the bench. How I would love to see Jake Kean again...unfortunately it seems he can actually get in the Blackburn first team from time to time.

Hawkins is 21 years old and so out of the young prospect age range i'd say, and how much potential does he have? He's made a dozen or so appearances and has never got a run in the side despite a dearth of midfield talent in recent seasons so a number of manager's haven't used this untapped potential in sides that have been shit over the last few years

Not bothered either way to be fair, if he stays fine if he goes I won't cry

Also not sure Maxted provides any real competition to Flinders, and he seemed more of a "he'll do" type signing when we got rid of Rafferty and there will be plenty of keepers available in the summer merry go-round

As for Franks he has pace and works hard without any real end product and as with Maxted there will surely be better out there during the summer

His delivery from set pieces and crosses is awful at times
