Had a pint with him today played Left Back in our 1st promotion season "Trapper" he was known as, he moved onto Bristol City after 5 years!

Noticed my Pools Tattoo on my chest and over he came smashing fella with a load of Bristol City fans young & old. He new everything about our season the club the lot & how many went to York etc... Asked if I was going to Carlise. The man was a total gent & a pools fan he said they have always been his team & he'll be thinking of us all the next two games & will kick every ball ....! This is what being a pools fan is all about I was proud as fuck today.

Just thought I'd share that with you.

For the younger fans this was our Left Back in the late 60's.....he is still fit as a fiddle!

I remember him playing for us, he was similar to Rob Mckinan, very skilfull and a good defender. Shame we don,t see more like them in our team.

One of my all time favourites. Met him at the Player of the Century "do". Think he won an award as well.

The type of left back we could do with just now. A quality player.

Must be one of the best full backs to pull a Pools shirt on. Small fast tricky and hard, took no prisoners that lad.

My Dad played a few games alongside him in the third division season and says he was a top class left back. He reckons that Liverpool were interested before he went to Bristol City

We signed him from Lincoln City. Brilliant full back.
Did you know he was our very first substitute when they were introduced in 1965???
Glad to hear he is fit and well.
