it's imperative that we get a result of some description at York, the chances of the bottom 2 getting any kind of result on Saturday are remote at best. If we were to lose, then that would be 3 without a win. We NEED daylight and fast.

This time next weekend we won't be any worse off:

Southend v Tranmere
Wycombe v Cheltenham
York v Pools

Two defeats and a draw respectively. Pools 2 points clear (1 with GD)

The following week there are midweek games:

Mansfield v Tranmere
Pools v Accrington
Cheltenham v Cambridge

Three wins I would suggest so still no worse off.

The following Saturday is a toughy.

Luton v Pools
Tranmere v Oxford
Northampton v Cheltenham

The only one of those opponents with anything to play for is Luton so this is the game where we drop back into the bottom two. I reckon both Cheltenham and tranmere will win whereas we will get beat. We might even be bottom again.
25th April.

Southend v Tranmere - home win
Wycombe v Cheltenham - home win
Pools v Exeter - home win.

Back up to third again.

So by my reckoning it all hinges on the final day with us needing a win at Carlisle and we will need to win. Cheltenham are at Wimbledon who have nothing to play for and Bury will be taking it easy not wanting to get injured for the play offs.

Three teams against three teams with nothing to lose. If Pools do not win at Carlisle, I reckon we go down.

If I've read that right you think Tranmere and Cheltenham will both win 3 out of their last 5 games... Do you really think that'll happen? Neither have them look like they could buy a win at the moment.

Looking at the opposition and what they have to play for then why not? You would have said something similar about Pools not very long ago. You could argue that the new manager factor will kick in at Cheltenham too.

All Pools have to do is do better than the other two. I can see two wins at home and a draw away, thats optimistic. After that I think it will be a final day decider.

You should put a bet on all those results coming off, its all that straight forward! No self respecting footballer would go on to a pitch not wanting to win!. Accrington more or less had nothing to play for and thumped carlisle today who have it all to play for, sometimes teams just simply are'nt very good!

Looking at the remaining fixtures I think we'll be safe after winning our last home game. Can't see tranmere or Cheltenham amassing as many points.

As the old saying goes.. " lets just take it one game at a time " if predicting football was so easy we would all be cleaning up at the bookies every weekend.

Come on Pools, just keep playing like we did second half against Southend and let the other teams worry about themselves. rolf

Broken nose, is it not?

Should be able to play next week with a mask

With our medical team will need a face transplant after bates' leg and fenwick's ankle!

Southend have very few injury problems, Brown tells them in they don't shape up and get themselves fit he's going to get the physio to sit on them.

I think Hugil's injury and the concern was around his eye not his nose.

Detached retina for Hugill, not sure how long this takes to treat, but he is seeing a specialist today so I can't see him being fit for tomorrow.

I hope that Moore stating York will be too soon for Fenwick is a cold bluff. Starting with Harewood upfront on Saturday effectively reduces our chances of winning to 0. I would take 0-0 now if Harewood is starting.

I'd imagine Saturday will be too soon for Fenwick he's been out for a good while and already played one lot of 90 minutes this week.

Also Franks and Fenwick up front away from home? That clearly won't work you need one them to be able to play with there back to goal and be able to hold the ball up. With those two it's just going to keep coming back.

If it is a detached retina,we won't see Hughill again. You just have to rest & let it re-attach itself.

If it was that clear cut then surely he'd have been ruled out already and Moore wouldn't be Tweeting last night that he hopes he'll be alright after seeing the specialist.

I think it's time to give Nelson-Addy a run out if that's the case. 45 minutes each for him and Fenwick

I've checked on a number of highly reputable medical websites and you can stick a detached retina back on with special super glue that they will sell you for £15 a tube. Only side effect is the possibility of a permanent wink.

They'll also do you a cream that ensures a giant penis for an extra tenner.
