You went to a game in division 2 or even league 1 and there was an atmosphere like that? Possibly Burnley for me many many years ago.

Would have been a lot better had the first 45 minutes not been wrist slittingly bad.

The 'atmosphere' in the first half was as flat as a witches tit. There was nowt till we scored and then things came to life.... a sort of nervous excitement.

Bristol City in the first leg of the play off semi will take some beating.

I remember reading a reporter from Bristols local rag saying he'd covered them for years at places like Anfield and it's the best atmosphere he's ever witnessed.

I know it was League One but the first Leeds games home AND away were a bit tasty.

Scarborough at home in 99 was a good un. Lot riding on it an all.

My abiding memory of the Scarborough match was after the game.... we were all in the car at the traffic lights outside the old library... when a car load of their supporters pulled up alongside us, when one of my sons made a gesture in reference to the score, one of them went berserk and was just short of frothing at the mouth banging on their car windows....hilarious.

Very true. That fans reaction stuck with me going from complete composure to complete breakdown at the flick of a switch...rather like Scarborough.

Bristol city didn't even sell out their allocation for that game so no suprise he never seen an atmosphere like it.

Away leg v Tranmere 2005 play off, never been so on edge in a game especially when they leveled the tie at 2-2. Fans never gave up singing!

Playoff games stay in the mind as does that the 2-1 win at Darlo back in 97 when we got the points to keep league football in the town & that Scarborough game in 99. They went on the road to oblivion while it was the start of good things for us once the 99/00 season took hold.

And unsurprisingly finished last with a record low points total. Even if you scale it up by one point a win (since it was two for a win in those days) we're already way past that total this season. Strangely enough we didn't get relegated though.
I don't especially remember the freakish winter. I should do because I was a paper lad at the time.
