This was the bottom of the table back in January after the 1-0 defeat at Wycombe..

17 Cheltenham 24 -11 28
18 York 24 -2 27
19 Mansfield 23 -10 27
20 Northampton 24 -4 25
21 Dag & Red 24 -10 25
22 Carlisle 24 -16 24
23 Tranmere 23 -7 22
24 Hartlepool 24 -27 14
At that point I couldn't see us making 30 points in total for the season banghead , it also shows just how badly Cheltenham have performed over the last 2 months.

After putting all and sundry to the sword earlier in the season, I can't believe Cambridge have been dragged into it. This Ryan Bird thing might make or break our season and surely they aren't daft enough to leave him here.

Cheltenhams poor form since late 2014 is consistent, the others seem to dig up a result now and then. Reckon its between us Carlisle and Cheltenham, think York will be okay in the end

York`s pitch is like a ploughed field, it will be a battle of hoof ball as on the floor is out!

York have been terrible at home all season (only 2 wins and 12 goals for ) I think they should be well in our sights, I think Carlisle will be ok.

I also think one of Cambridge or Oxford could get dragged in, us beating Cambridge a week Saturday could really get them flapping they've dropped like we did last year.

Oxford's pitch wasn't exactly the 18th green at St Andrews.

The York fans were a bit full of themselves at the Vic for a bunch of muffler-wearing, parkin-munching mummy's boys.

But it was the Carlisle fans that really got up my nose. Granted Pools were unbelievably crap in Cooper's last game in charge, but the sheep-shagging imitation Welshmen were just loving it.

I think they probably will - just - stay out of bother. But it'll be choice if they need the points on the last day of the season - letting them know what a proper away end sounds like!

Par for the course is 48 points for 3rd bottom club and I get the feeling it will be enough this season. The last two seasons the relegated teams have been really unlucky not to have been surrounded by complete duffers and I don't think that's the present case.

That's 15 from 9 needed. If our season had averaged that kind of return we'd be 5th or 6th. It's a lot to ask.
9 from 7 would look a lot better. Let's just win these next two games.

interesting to see the goal diff was -27 after the wycombe game, 2 months on it's -29. ronnie def got the defence sorted, not leaking the school boy error goals every game or collapsing like cards. i may be wrong but apart from mifrin and lanzoni, its been the same players all season that were already here operating the back line. mirfin def added the experience we needed and harrison has been outstanding lately.
not been to the away games but bird and franks seem lively up front from what i've listened to on the radio and been reported on. full of graft, commitment and energy. plus with fenwick back hopefully, will keep harewood and morgan out.
ronnie didn't have a lot of tools to fix a sinking ship, but hopefully he's found a formula to plug it and keep it sailing to safety.

Them games between the end of Harrison's loan and him signing killed us. Didn't we lose to Carlisle and York in that spell?

There's definitely been a change of tack from IOR since Moore came in.

Whether or not Paul Murray was ever the right man for Pools in the state the playing squad was in, he got royally screwed over by the owners and CEO.

Possibly because with Ronnie, there's a chance they feel that we can do much better next season but IOR must invest for this to happen.

Murray, surprised at his appointment yet when he got sacked after Blyth, it didn't come as a surprise. Wrong appointment overall.

but that is the point. ronnie knows what he is doing, getting the best out of what he has got available and spotting decent players and hoping that they can do it in the situation we are in. agree some have been vital, some have under achieved.
but they went for the cheap option in cooper (disaster) and murray who found fenwick and featherstone although shockingly treat by by the club in his short time as manager.
i just hope that ken & russ being the back stabbers they are will not treat ronnie like john hughes our last proper manger the same way just to keep the clubs league status by allowing ronnie to bring these players in, keep us up and then 'releasing' him in the summer to appoint the cheap option again in sam collins.
