Ivan Ashe on radio tees last night saying our team is not even good enough to stay in the conference next season.
I cant see anyone disagreeing with that statement!

The current team would be alright in the conference. Ivan only sees them away mind that's probably what he's basing his comments on!

You might be right if you judge every player on their own merits and at their best but once you get a losing culture it is hard to turn it round. Low confidence and lack of fighting spirit won't just disappear over the summer if the squad stays the same. A poor start and we could easily be in serious bother.

Im sure this team would struggle. The chances of it still being this squad is pretty slim though

I reckon we'll do alright in the conference but getting back out of it is a different matter.

The problem is goals. This team and forward line would not score much more in the Conference than they currently are now. Doubt we'd go down in the Conference with this squad but we would still finish considerably closer to relegation than play-offs.

This is the worst team we have ever had bar none. We are unable to even produce goal scoring chances in this league. We have a weaker squad than probobly a fair few teams in the conference north we have played one team below league level this year at home and lost so yes we will find the conference a nice mid table stroll. We have one hope at the minute and that's scot Fenwick. If fenwick is injured a team that cant score wont win many points in any league. If Ronnie Moore is allowed to scatter the lot and build a new team we will comfortably survive if not we will be playing conference north in just over a years time you just need to look at Stockport to see how easy it is for that to happen. No way on earth will this current squad survive comfortably in the conference

Ivan sees the home games as well.So I think he may well base his comments on those games as well..

I think if Moore stays we'll be absolutely fine at that level, Torquay were every bit as bobbins as us last year and they've been top half/mid table for most of the season.

We need some stability on the football side of things, keep the manager give him control of the retained list and even working under the restrictions he already does we should be competitive at that level.

If they sack another manager (as when relegation happens blame will be shifted in all directions as we saw with the Hughes 'Oldham' situation) which wouldn't surprise me at all then it's anyone's guess.

Seriously where has changing the manager every six month (or less) got us?

He's experienced and it terms of his overall record as a manager has enough about him to have us nowhere near the bottom of that league, this season he's inherited an almost hopeless situation yes he might have made a bad singing or two but Morgan was probably about 15th on the list of players he actually tried to get here plus every manager makes bad signings at least he's binned him very quickly. If we'd have kept together the team that beat Plymouth then maybe, just maybe but a couple got injured and Bingham got recalled then the best player since Moore came breaks his leg.

Moore and Hignett would be a perfect combo.

If we actually have a squad of players we own the contracts to it will be a start. I'm adverse to loan signings but this year has been ridiculous. The years we were stable in League 1 I remember seeing the table of players used and we were bottom with a steady squad of about 23-25 players used. This year we've almost had that many in loans.

We've been that shit, had that many loans coming and going and when occasionally things have looked promising we've had things go wrong. This season has been a total disaster with an already awful squad.

Lets do what Bristol Rovers have done. Keep out 'better' players, sign some with league experience, a bit of youth but primarily some players with experience at that level. Fundamentally since he signed Marlon Harewood hasn't got to grips with this level and we can't afford such dead wood again

'Commitment'....? ... are you suggesting you can't comment on the state of the team unless you live in the town..... and a compliant nodding dog mug...?

'Commitment' ... are you seriously suggesting he can't pass comment because he doesn't have a house next to the Vic or would you restrict commentating to bonafide residents of the town with a nodding dog compliant nature.
He made a valid comment ...his place of residence doesn't change a thing.

........ by the way, where does our chairman and manager live......... in town ....?

The current team would be closer to the relegation spots than promotion from the conference. Russ has already stated being relegated will cost us 750k, IOR will probably just cut this from the playing budget so the squad will be worse than this season (I know that sounds impossible). Therefore relegation to conf North is a distinct possibility.

Moore is not the Messiah. He's a bloke trying to do difficult job with piss poor tools and it shows.
Is he the answer..? I really don't know.
