We've worked it out. If he shouts, the microphone cuts out. Therefore he has to keep it low-key. I suggest for the coming weeks we get this sorted because he's going to NEED to shout!!! COME ON!!!! BRING IT ON!!!!!!!

He got the number wrong on one of the Northampton subs too. He is awful. Also why announce you can't play the music, just ignore it as no one would have known. First rule of doing anything public, don't point out your mistakes or problems.

I thought it was amusing when he played the sound of silence

Wish I could hear anything at all. The speakers in the Town end to the left of the goal haven't worked for ages.

Why do people get so worked up about a lad who speaks for in total around 15-20 mins over a match. We've just won FFS banghead

...Of course I'm happy we've won, but why should we not talk about other relevant things ffs?

Has the equipment been changed? The sound in the CK stand has been terrible for ages? Hard to hear the line ups or anything else for that matter.

My gear came with me when I left the job. I believe Greig uses a computer of some sort. I'd stick to a cd and mixer for a Football Stadium to be honest. Technology and Pools ageing public address system is a dangerous mix.

He was belting through them that fast you couldn't take it in, so he'd be ready for the start of the penalty shoot out. Comical.

It's not as comical as focusing on this after our third consecutive home win, who goes to the game to listen to the PA announcer? I think he does a good job he probably doesn't have the best tools to work with. It says more about you than him that you are even bothered about this.

I also try and use me eyes to identify who is playing but will not trust them until it is officially announced. Those that were cut out on announcement didn't even play in my eyes. The same goes for goals I don't even react or even celebrate until they are announced. It's THAT important.

This thread is as bad as the one saying Hangus will be arrested for issueing 'death threats' to that plymouth keeper.

You would'nt want to see anyone get sacked :naughty: , but if it's basically the quality of the equipment why isn't either he or the club doing something about it. If he can't shout the scorers name out because the microphone cuts out well stpid

Didn't realise you can't comment on anything other than the match.

McDonalds are giving away these little megaphone thingys with their happy meals. Maybe we could get him one of those until the PA system gets seen to.

Elvisc hit the nail on the head with when I shout/get over enthusiastic on the mic it clips /cuts out
So when announcing mirfin, attempting to give a big shout out I saw my levels rising and while attempting to compensate fiddling with knobs (on the mixer! ) I stumbled my words.

So at the moment I am in a constant battle with the sound system. It's taken a little while as I wanted to make absolute sure it wasn't my end. I have adjusted levels, changed mics, leads etc.
There are some issues with the club sound system, I have asked for it to be looked at and have been told it will. It's not as simple as it just be fixed. It's complicated. There are a few things wrong as have been indicated on this thread. Some of them not a simple fix

I miss the days I could come in set my levels and only be criticised for high pitched twatishness without having to worry about my setup.

Of course when something goes wrong, everything seems to go wrong. The half time time miss of music was again as elvisc called a laptop issue. But a debate between laptop and cd is a long one that I won't debate here.
Although the ironic cheers to 'the sound of silence' were amusing
It wasn't Simon and garfunkel, just a cover!

Just trying try to clarify a couple of things.

Have some posts been deleted? I could have sworn I saw something about me being sacked, albeit jokingly. It's alright I can take it a little bit better than the original thread that mentioned it. Now it's not all my fault!

Besides the last time it got to six pages. Surely this can do better?

For me I think it's harsh the lad feels he has to come on here and defend himself. I'm happy with the music he plays which includes a lot of young up and coming local bands who he names drops which is good the town in general.

I'd be a lot happier if this was the biggest worry we had at pools.
